16 days to go here! I thought things were graduallly coming together and have now discovered that everything seems to be half done. eg I have a cake, but it has to be all marzipaned and iced and decorated yet.
Have spent today tidying upstairs as OH is home for the day (about the last day off until right before the wedding) as we have guests staying over next week for my hen night and obviously for the wedding and our spare room was our laundary room. So one chest of drawers and several hours later we finally have a spare room and a neat and tidy main bedroom.
Have realised life is too short to get mad (both of our families are still messing us about) but had decided to ignore everything and do exactly what I want now. In the end I just want to get married to my OH, I don't care how it comes about.

    Hey

Is anyone else finding this wedding malarky a bit much?? Everytime i think im getting somewhere something comes up that needs to be done.

I have had my hen night and it was amazing it was one of the best weekends iv had in a long time and if i thought the wedding would be anything like that id be over the moon

Im not though.... im finding everything a bit of a struggle. There is so much going on at work just now its just getting me down. I have taken 2 days off and was looking forward to them so much but as always happens when i get some time off i get ill :o

I had my first dress fitting and while my mum and sister were making all the right noises and telling me how amazing i looked i felt rubbish. My dress is huge!!! and it feels very heavy when its on... don't get me wrong it is gorgeous and very sparkly but i never had the OMG its the one moment and i really thought today would be different.

Now i don't know if its cause i was feeling unwell or whether its cause im not loving the dress i felt really dizzy and light headed so much so they had to get me a seat and water and switch on the fans in the shop i really thought i was going to pass out or be sick. Im now lying in bed feeling really sorry for myself n my OH thinks it will all be fine but im not so sure. I think the thing that really didn't help was when i walked in there were another 2 customers saying that one was getting married in september and the dress she has just isn't her and she wants a new one and all i could think about was how brave she was for actually just saying what she was thinking and feeling....

One month today and it will all be over  i want to feel happy and enjoy it all so why can't i??

Buddiebabe, I know exactly what you mean. Just had my hair trial and at first I was all excited but after my hair was out of the way, I just got bored, and now I'm just tired, grumpy and hungry. The morning of the wedding will be even busier and I'll probably be just as bored.

My dress fitting was at the weekend and although I've been dieting and exercising for months, the fit was the same as when I started. Nobody seems to understand why I'm upset by this because the dress fits perfectly. I also just felt a bit...blah when I looked at myself in the dress.

People keep asking me about centrepieces and ribbons and mirror plates and buttonholes and I just look at them blankly. I can't make myself care anymore.

I do get the odd blast of excitement/nervousness but that's about marrying my H2B. I just want to get married. Can we just fast forward so I can stop saying "we'll do it after the wedding"?

Thanks codemonkey i read some threads on here and i feel so lucky not to have all the family issues or wedding party issues. Both families have been great and so have all the wedding party bridesmaids especially but is it so wrong of me to want to enjoy all of it??

I should be grateful but im not.... i want everything to be perfect and to manage everything so it looks like it all matches and is in place but i still have invitations to send out.... oh wait i still have to make them first!!! I actually sent out 2 today that i would normally have put in the reject pile but i just thought i don't actually care if the insert is crushed :eek:

The other thing thats getting to me is why cant people RSVP??? I don't understand how hard it is to say they are coming to a wedding that is happening in a month but they can sort out a xmas night out which is not for ages.... that just makes me :mad::mad::mad:

I know my wedding is not the most important thing in everyones life but it is to me!!!

I have unfortunately had the family issues. And people not RSVPing. I just started harrassing people eventually.

I think after spending so long planning it, I'm bored with flower arrangements. Atm H2B is more stressed than I am.

I've read some of your previous threads and posts and don't envy you at all i think all the time we spend planning trying to make everyone happy just makes us more and more sick of the whole thing.

At the end of the day who care what the flowers look like as long as we get married thats all that matters.

I am going to try and get some sleep and hopefully get rid of this cold .... and in the morning i intend to try and finish the last 3 invites i need to send out.... move onto thank you cards for the gifts we have already received and then onto harrassing emails, facebooking and texting for RSVPs

We have given up on trying to follow up RSVPs, but we are having a hogroast so it doesn't mater about the numbers too much. But have gone past the caring now about whether people are coming or not, esp after one friend that lives up the road turned around and said he wasn't coming, no excuse or anything, he doesn't work, can afford it and its all of a 2 minute drive away, just he's not coming.
Have decided to do the small evening buffet ourselves as it wasn't worth paying out to get someone to cater it, but my friend has given me a turkey and a ham tonight that he will carve up for us (he's a butcher).
Completely know what you mean about not being excited in some ways. I really wish I had took my Aunt's advice and had just 'run' away and had a small wedding just the two of us. Everything seems to be about other people not us. I am spending all of my time sorting out other people and am running out of time to sort out my stuff.

How glad am I that we are 'running away' after reading all of your worries and hassles ladies.. (((hugs))) just remember, all that matters is that the two of you get married and are happy... that, after all, is what it is ALL about!

    Hi Joho,

We are on holiday in Pefkos when you get married so if we are in Lindos that day will give you a wave from the beach:wave: Hope it all goes well & look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. I'm sure everything will be fab as Karen seems super organised from what we have had so far.

    Best of luck

Ah buddiebabe - hope you feel better. I'm sure things do get on top of you but I'm sure everything will start falling into place and then you can start feeling happier and bit mroe excited.

I think I would be a complete and utter stresshead if I was getting married in the UK - I just can't fathom how I would organise fancy centrepieces and flowers and decorations and food and so on and so on, and NOT be stressed!

Hi Fawny - thanks for your wishes! We're not getting married until 5.45PM so if you are still on the beach then I'll be very impressed!! Karen is great - she did our friends wedding there 4 years ago, thats how we came to know her. She's so calm!

Hugs and best wishes to everyone! x
