Silly things are stressing me out now, like people telling me how I want things done, eh no I said I want a no ur better having b, noooooooooooo lol
Went to the venue today to see about getting ameeting withthe manager and chef so we can get things finalised, bar staff was incredibly rude, if it wasnt so close id have told them to shove it! Shame my invites are already out lol. Lets hope she was just having a bad day lol.Got Married 16/09/11 :j0 -
I'm starting to worry that if I am doing the right thing, I'm not doubting my relationship with my HTB, but have just had a rather horrid email from my parents saying they won't becoming as I haven't communicated with them about it. The thing is I don't get on at all well with them as they took a very bitter line about mine and my OH's relationship and were very obverse to it. So I admit I have been trying to avoid talking to them about it as I know they would just try and put me off getting married.
To tell the truth it's really upset me and right now I wish my OH was here to tell me it will be all ok, but he's still away with his friends, so have no one to talk to about this.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -

Well feeling better about hte whole wedding plans now, tried my dress on again last SUnday and I managed to get it closed at teh back, when I bought it in March I couldnt get it closed by about 3 inches.
I went to the reception venue yesterday with my mum and fiance, they have had problems with chefs but now have one who is there to stay. We met with him yesterday and went over our menu which we had choosen with a previous chef. We have completly changed it and its not cost us any extra but deffo looks better now. The only problem is that the venue have changed the part of hte room we are having and I now need to get a few extra things to decorate the room, but I can deal with that lol.
Hope everyone elses plans are going wellGot Married 16/09/11 :j0 -

Vesper I know you're feeling a little better now, I've just caught up with the thread. *hugs tight* it's YOUR day. If they want to be silly and miss it, it's THEIR loss, not yours. My mum hasn't been all that involved with mine - but I left home when I was 19 and we live 90 miles apart. She helped with making the invitations but, beyond that, I've been making the decisions without her input. We are independent women on here, so although it would have been nice to have parental approval and attendance it isn't necessary to our happiness, right?? You keep your chin up! :A
Well, for me, just under 8 weeks to go. So far we have sorted:
Ceremony booked and paid for
Reception venue and price agreed
My dress (ebay £55 non-wedding but I love it)
My tiara (ebay from the US)
Honeymoon destination agreed, flights booked, hotel for the first week booked (deposit paid)
Rings bought and in possession
Invitations went out ages ago, it still looks like 16 including us
To do:
My shoes
OH's outfit (we're going next weekend)
Bridesmaid's outfit (I'm not paying)
MoH's outfit (ditto)
Hotel for second week of honeymoon
Hotel for the wedding night
My dress is at MoH's house, I tried it on today while I was there. It's a good fit, and I love it as much as when I bought it (phew!). No petticoat needed either, so that can go back on ebay.
I'm still debating whether to do favours, I probably won't. Cakes will be whatever I can get on the day, as will my flowers. I'm not stressed about it, I go between moments of calm and excitement.
I have a friend's wedding to attend in the meantime which is costing me a large amount to go to as it's a long distance, but I don't know when I'll next see her after that and some other friends of mine are going so ditto with them. I'm just swallowing the expense - she and her H2B are invited to ours but she starts a new job in September so she hasn't said yay or nay yet.
Hope everyone else's planning is going well! :j"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
AAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7 weeks to go and we're not even half way there with organisation! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate the way that I am being 'blamed' (by his family) for not having everything sorted but I'm the one who's been out of the house most these past few months and have had exams etc and he's the one whos been in the house not doing ANYTHING (except 'cleaning' which is NO excuse for not doing any plans etc!) I am getting so stressed it's unreal! wish I didnt have to organise things, would be so much better and easier if all I had to do was turn up :0( sorry, rant over......for now! lol
