Only you can make that decision. Is there any way you can find the dress you love 2nd hand on pre-loved or ebay or anything?

We're getting there - 95 days to go. Eeeek. We've got our menu tasting next week, then a meeting next weekend to discuss the details with the hotel. Everything major is booked or done,

I've ordered wooden rose centrepieces - I wanted to order one to see what it was like but H2B said to order 10, so I hope they're nice or we're stuck with them!!

started my beauty regime but I'm still a human pimple farm atm, and diet and exercise so I don't wibble like a jelly.

Keep thinking there must be something major we've forgotten.

110 days to the big day! I have got shoes from ebay, brand new!! I am thinking of adding a few diamante (sp) stones to them to add a bit of sparkle and make them a bit different (not BFGW style!)
Anyone ever done this.. any advice please?!

We have wooden roses for our table decorations that are also doubling up as the wedding favours and they are lovely! Mine were off ebay, about £12.50 for 100.
We've just been to my Aunt's to drop off the cake tins and boards. After a quick worry that the biggest cake tin wouldn't fit in her oven all is sorted. She didn't even laugh when she saw the largest cake board is really a pizza tray, no one will notice once its covered in icing anyway. So they will be back in a couple of weeks for me to ice and decorate as my own leasure.
Finally found the most beautiful bridesmaid dress for my friend's daughter, it even matches my dress and was only £15 in a charity shop with its tags still on.
Some times its worth the extra effort for your own wedding dress, I found The One for me but its had to have a lot of alterations as apparently I am 'all skew-wiff' and it doesn't sit right at the moment. Currently it is sat in pieces again at a friends, but I had a fitting the other day and at least the back is sitting right now. Got another fitting tomorrow night as she is nipping in the sides and trying new straps on it. It's been a lot on effort for a dress, but its too beautiful to not do it (so my friend says).

  • what kind of cake are you having? I was wanting to do my own but I dont want to have to rush it as the day gets nearer but I think it might spoil if I do it too soon.

We're having fruit cake, which are meant to be made about now so they can be fed with brandy. But I have also made them a couple of days before they are eaten too.
They are really easy to make, I usually make them for christmas for my family but don't want another item on the list for myself to do for the wedding, so my aunt offered. To be frank I've got enough things to make for this wedding without making 3 fruit cakes.

  • thats my downfall, I dont like fruit cake :( lol

I had a long hard think about the dress situation and decided that I have enough things I can sell to raise the money for THE ONE. I went back today to see it with my shoes and they said they'd knock 10% off it for me, not a huge saving but still better than the price tag!

Sponge cakes are even easier than fruit cakes, but it does rather depend on how many tiers you want and sizes as the tins are quite expensive. It might just work out cheaper to buy a plain iced sponge cake from your local supermarket as they have 8/9/10" cakes for around £7.00 and then you can accessorise it to your own theme.
Or make your own if you want to do different flavours like lemon or chocolate. But like I said it can be expensive when you add in the price of the tins and the icing.

Quick question- does it still not feel real to any one? I don't know whether its because we have had such a short time to organise this wedding, but it doesn't feel real to me. I keep bursting into tears for no reason. I've had two dress fittings this week, and each time I was trying to work out why I was stood there in a dress (I never ever wear dresses).

How short notice was yours vesper? Sorry Im rubbish where my memory is concerned (think I need a defrag to make bit more space lol!)

We only decided and booked ours April/May this year so I know where you are coming from. My dress still isn't ready and I daren't ring them to ask in case they get really peed off with me and just don't complete so I then have to go and try find another dress and I really like the one I've chosen (obviously) so that is just more trauma ....

Try and think positive, you are both in love and have decided that this is what you want to do, so just try relax and let things happen. We will be fine!! :D
