aww thats so lovely of them!
would you risk online purchasing? Someone I know who accepts nothing but the best (she has a massive Tiffany diamond on her finger!!) used light in the box.com and she highly recommends them, they're cheap but exceptional quality and fast delivery and you can do custom sizes. might be worth a look?
I've just designed my invites, all I need to do now is print them off, stick them down and wait for the ribbon to arriveI've even done a pretty nifty little map! (YAY me! lol)

Yay, things are moving again. We have sample invitations and our menu tasting booked.
Just need to sort the flowers. H2B's aunt said she'd do it, but she doesn't seem keen and keeps sending me websites of artificial flowers so I'm guessing she's changed her mind a bit :rotfl::rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Have come to the realisation that no bridal shop wants to know you if you are on a budget. Went into our local bridal shop as I know they also sell the fabric for making alterations, to see if I can get some for the alterations to my wedding dress. Can not believe how snobby the assistant was when she found out we were doing our own alterations, and tried selling me another dress as she said mine was old. !!!!!! its only a year old, I just don't have the money to go and buy one of their £1000 dresses! Nor would I wish to.
So off to another fabric shop tomorrow that also sell the type of material we want. But I will admit that I have just bought another dress tonight just incase my friend can't alter mine (it's a big job and as she lives 150miles away and only comes up here for a week a month it may not be possible). The thing is the new dress fits perfectly! So am in a complete quandry which one to wear especially as the new one is black!Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Vesper I wouldn't worry about the colour, you obviously love it that's why you bought it. It's your day, wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy!
Sorry the dress shops have treated you badly, they seem to forget that without (any kind of) customers none of them would have a job!! Oo it makes me mad!
Chin up girl, they don't deserve your business!![STRIKE]

They didn't get the business and won't be. Instead went to a very nice fabric shop with my friend today and a very nice chap helped us out with the material that cost a fraction of the price of the other. Not only that have got some gorgious purple fabric which my friend offered to make me a bolero from for £3!!!! So am incrediably happy now.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0

Hello all!
Time is flying around for us all now, there’s just 3 months 3 days left to go for us! Yikes! Seems like so long ago that we booked, at that time the wedding was forever away!!
I think that things are pretty much under control, hopefully I have most things sorted, if I’ve missed anything, please let me know!! This is the first time I've written a wedding list, looks all 'real' written down!!
So far….
Venue & reception booked
Registrar booked, just 3 more days and the M10 forms can be submitted (Going up to Gretna!)
The invites have been sent, still waiting on a couple of RSVP’s for menu choices (but know everyone is coming as they have all booked rooms in hotel!)
Photographer booked
Dj booked
Dress currently with seamstress for alteration, but then needs to go to cleaners (was a bargain sample dress, not really unclean, but I’m just fussy!)
Shoes bought
Jewellery bought
Make up, hair booked
Cupcake’s & cutting cake ordered ( Cake stand & topper bought)
Flowers… going to order them & do them myself along with my sister, we used to work in a florist so will be able to do them no problem, have already done a mock up of the centrepieces, very simple, with simple rose bouquets & buttonholes.
Bridesmaid jewellery bought
Best man watch bought
H2B presents sorted
Favours bought, just need putting together
Place name cards all made
2 ‘Matrimony’ roses ordered for mum’s presents
Bridesmaid & page boy presents bought
Cufflinks, socks bought
Signing frame bought (instead of guest book.. Need to choose a pic for the middle of it)
Hen night spa night away booked
Bridesmaid dress bought, unfortunately DD doesn’t like it, even though she chose it… perhaps back to the drawing board on that one L
Ring’s… hmmm… have bought 2 plain band rings, was originally not going to wear my shaped engagement ring, but the nearer that it’s getting, can’t bear the thought of not wearing it anymore. Have been looking into getting a ring bespoke made… must decide on this very soon!
Have just decided on having a candy buffet, bought some jars, bowls, still need to buy the rest of the bits needed, scoops, bags etc.
Don’t need any cars, just got to walk across the road!
Still need to sort out….
Underwear
Bridesmaids shoes
Suit hire, H2B keeps putting this off, have decided which suits we like from the Etiquette website, but might change mind when we finally go & look at them!
Make table name cards & table plan (Everything bought for these) Might make a start on these this afternoon!
Children’s favours…. No idea as ages from 6 – 15 years…. Hmmmm?
Honeymoon, unfortunately H2B’s father has just finished horrendous treatment for cancer, so we’ve decided to wait until nearer the time & see how he is before booking anything as MIL & FIL were going to look after DS for us.
Then just to empty the wedding fund bank account & pay the final balances!
Hope that everyone else’s plans are going wellx

Haha, I'm calm cos big stuff is booked, (photos, venues, meals chosen, rings, what we are wearing registrar) then think OMG all the smaller things aargh, PANIC, uurgh! Now I've decided the smaller things will sort themselves or no one will notice them missing anyway!

yet another dilemma.....(ARGH!!!) I went to try on dresses today to see what style I'd be better with (planning to order online) and I've only gone and fallen in love with one of the dresses I tried on. It is THE dress...THE ONE!
they dont have anything similar online. now what do I do? Do I chose something else from the online shop that is cheaper but not THE ONE or do I get the one from the shop and pay double what we had budgeted but it's THE ONE?? what do I doooooooooooo????
