    Hello all

Can I join you all please.. I am a reject (lol) from the November thread as I was hoping to be a November bride. However circumstances have now led us to September so by November I will be a married woman!

I have had a quick read of the thread so far and you are all so organised and seem to have been planning forever... I am a last minute girl and we only booked the wedding a week ago, to be married in just over 4 months! *looks for horrified smiley!*

Our date is the 26th September and I see I already have a date twin yay!! We really have nothing to organise as we are having our wedding abroad so the wedding coordinators are doing it all! All we had to do was choose a destination, a wedding date and a hotel!

The dress is chosen and being made, the rings are chosen, paid for and in the jewellers safe (so I am not tempted to wear it coz I love it so!) it is just the 2 of us ... so .... have I forgotten anything!?!

We plan to have a celebratory party for family and friends on our return though this could be also a last minute thing also due to rota's, employers, lack of leave remaining due to wedding time off, long shifts and not many days off! Oh well it will all come together I am sure, it is meant to be!

My goodness how relaxed do I sound?? Believe me I am like the proverbial swan... regal and chilled on the surface .. but paddling like mad underneath! lol

Sorry for the long post... so.. can I stay?!

    Hey

Welcome all new september brides to be... you all seem to be very well organised.

Its 18 weeks today until i get married  i still cant believe its so near...

I had the last week off my work to get wedding stuff done and i have been quite busy but have also felt like i've not got much done. I have managed to do the following when i've been off:

    - Daytime invitations made (except two as not sure of names)
    - Underwear bought
    - Favour jars filled
    - Met with owner of venue to discuss wedding
    - Menu decided
    - Have possibly got a make up artist
    - Had a photo shoot with the wedding photographer
    - Finally started my wedding beauty regime (eyebrows waxed and first facial had)

    Still to do:

    - Find out names for 2 daytime invites
    - Jewellery for me
    - Get hairdresser (my sisters friend is good but she's not sure she is confident enough to do it on the day so need to have a trial)
    - Confirm make up artist
    - Finish covering favour jars (7 done 73 to go!!)
    - Decide on evening invitations (what i want them to look like, make them and decide on who is invited)
    - Hair accessories for bridesmaids
    - Pay everybody
    - Table plan (venue would do this but its on 2 sheets of paper...think i want it to be colour coded :o)
    - Best mans gift

Think thats about it for now. The owner of the venue said to my OH that he was amazed at how calm and relaxed i am about things.... yeah thats on the outside... on the inside i feel sick with worry all the time but at least im carrying off the calm exterior :D

I'm getting a bit freaked out now.

Our venue are supposed to be this fabby wedding venue, but so far they've sucked with our wedding. It all started when the woman we orginally sorted everything out with went on long-term sick leave and we were assigned someone new. Nobody bothered to tell us so we had to chase them for the new contact. Then when we went in to meet the new person, they were giving us the wrong price and I had to remind them that it was a Sunday wedding so we didn't even have costing. Then I had to chase them to get them to confirm how much our last payment was because we didn't have any costings. Their communication is awful. They said they'd get in touch to sort out menus and so on 4 months before and they still haven't contacted us.

The woman making our invitations hasn't even done a sample for us. I've joined vistaprint just in case.

I've taken to biting my nails again.

I'm taking so many vitamins, I rattle like a maraca.

I sorted out the BM dresses yesterday and we didn't even mean to! They were the red ball gowns from debenhams and managed to get two for £122 :j.

Also I gave them both a £30 bodyshop voucher each (from the groupon deal a while ago), so they could buy makeup/pampering stuff as we are doing our own makeup on the day.

It was the first time my BM and MoH met each other and they seemed to get on great and I've also discovered that they are both very easy going (I knew they were separately anyway). They've already decided to try and co ordinate their shoes too lol

We sat down and discussed the hen do too and agreed on what we fancy doing!

    Good Times :D

yay for you Impet Limpet. I've still got to find a ring yet! I had completely forgotten about that bit.
How's everyone's plans going? I seem to be doing really well on the unimportant stuff, like got a giant tent yesterday so that my friends can stay over so they don't have to drive. But all of the important stuff seems to be bogging me down.

Hey everyone, I've not done much wedding stuff over the past few weeks as my OH has been posted abroad with work until the beginning of July. They had been trying to get him to go in Aug/Sept to which I had a freak out about! So he's gone now, so we'll have 8 weeks to get stuff sorted in by the time he gets back eeeeeek!

But we are very organised most stuff is done, day invites went out at the beginning of May, flowers ordered, BM dresses ordered, honeymoon paid for. I had intened to get the evening invited made and sent out by the end of May but it's going to be the first job on the list when I get back from my unexpected sun holiday to see my OH :D and the evening invites will be out towards the end of June.

I'm soooo excited 102 days to go :j
    I :heart2: saving money
  • My OH surprised me at work the other day with a text, he'd booked and paid for a honeymoon for us!! YEY!!! (wasnt expecting that!)

I was told by a colleague who is also planning a wedding, albeit for 2 years time. She went to the pound shop who were selling a pack of 10 pre-folded blank cards and envelopes for a pound a pack so I thought I was onto a winner. I got there and they had been reduced to 50p a pack!! I also bought some little dimante things meant for hair which i thought would make nice little decoration glued onto the card and I got lots of ribbon off ebay for £1.50! all in all a pretty successful weekend :)

I am in negotiations with a photographer who is amazing too so fingers crossed that goes well for us!

just trying to decide when to order the flower girl dressess as I dont want them to outgrow them but I dont want them to be baggy....I also dont want to have to take them in. I dont want much do I!? lol

    Not long now ladies!!!

Defintely not long now. Things seem to be coming along nicely now for us. Have even started getting some RSVP's back today, the lovely messages in them from my friends keep making me cry.
One of my friends has just said he would do a hog roast for us and can get the equipment for us as a present. Which is so lovely of him. Another has said that although he won't be there for the wedding (as he is a bit antisocial in that respect) has said that he would open the club where our reception is and I work, so that the caters can come in early and get everything ready.
Off shopping for some fabric tomorrow as another of my friends has offered to alter my dress for me.

The only thing we are struggling to find is a flowergirls outfit for my friend's 6yr old, but that's because she's a funny size. She's a bit tall for her age but is in 9year olds clothing and if looks as if she's about to have another growth spurt so it needs leaving for a while.

One thing I have noticed is how much my friends care for us and want to help out in any way they can. It has made me realise how lucky we are to have a wonderful group of friends. Even family members that live the other side of the country are making the long journey up here, something that means so much to me as they are getting older (in their 80's) and don't travel too well.
