O M G! I'm getting married this year & still have millions of things to do! Lol!
I'm really struggling at the moment with turquoise dresses for my bridesmaids... Is anyone else having this colour theme? If you have any ideas as to places I can look then please shout!
Next on the list is making the invitations :eek:0 -
Update time - all order forms signed and emailed to the planner - except the cake! Have sent a picture of one I like to see if they can do something similar. Haven't quite decided what main course to have at the reception yet, but that's no big deal.
Can't decide whether I have chosen enough decoration for our reception venue (a restaurant with a lemon tree and balcony area) - have ordered white chair covers, fairy lights in the lemon tree, petal scatter on the table and single bloom in a vase on the tables. Can't visualise whether that will be enough.
OH2B has decided he wants to wear a pale grey suit - which is fine, but he has said he wants to wear a tie to match the bridesmaids dresses. They are emerald green and I don't think that will look nice and I don't really want him to wear a tie - after all it will be hot! I want him to look smart, but don't expect him to be all buttoned up and stiff!
All but 8 people have now replied on an RSVP date of 24 December - how very decent of them. NOT
But any decisions that are left to be made are minor, I'm trying to be relaxed about things and am actually starting to get excited. Have my first appointment with the seamstress in 2 weeks and joined chub club this week to force off a bit of weight! have to say I'm not impressed with the new ProPoints thing at WeightWatchers. But then have only done it for one day, so should give it some time!!!
How's everyone else getting on?
M3ech - do you want proper BM dresses? New only? How many? What sizes?
s23xy_c - OMG! Insurance! Had never considered such a thing - will have to look into it myself! If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -
I recommend wedding insurance but only because we've already claimed on it. We paid approx £50 via ecclesiastial with their mix and match cover.
My wedding dress has arrived woop woop!!!:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

Hi all! Been ages since I was here, have been busy with other real life stuff so the wedding took a back seat for a while. But at last real life is calming down a little!
It's now only 6 months 20 days for me! Yikes! It's coming around really quickly!
Hope everyone's plans are going well, mine are coming along, everything is 'planned' in theory, that is I know the exact details of everything still to do, all the 'major' things are booked and deposits paid!
The only 'major' thing left to do is honeymoon, we hope to have saved enough to go to the Maldives for a week, but this will depend on OH getting his bonus at work, will know at the end of this month, fingers crossed!!
OH has gone to hand deliver the invites to his family & friends today, I'm going to take mine soon! This kind of makes it all more real in a strange kind of way! Seems so long ago that we gave out the save dates... 2 years ago!!
Happy planning everyone!:heartpuls dawnebabe :heartpuls0 -
I was trying to work out last night how long it would be till I was married, got it down to 202 days, eek!
Been busy ticking stuff off the list. Groomsmen suits booked and paid for and matching shoes purchased and they fit all the guys - tick!
Got an appointment with the florist next Saturday to discuss flowers so hopefully that will be another tick by next week.
Ordered fabric samples for the bridesmaid dresses, hopefully they will be ok then they can get ordered.
Honeymoon booked, we're going to Florida, spending 3 nights in Miami then driving over to Naples for the rest of the holiday - MOST EXCITED ABOUT THIS BIT!
Still very undecided what to do with invites, seems as though other people on here are sorting out thier invites so maybe I should start thinking about it :rotfl:I :heart2: saving money0 -
Hey
Not been on here for a while but i had a phone call last week to say my bridesmaids dresses are ready for fittings and payment on them is due. Now my sister dress that has been ordered is a US size 26 and she's only just started her diet so for her to go for a fitting just now would only make her stop her diet and use it as an excuse to stop her diet....she's already said as much!
I phoned the dress shop and am going to collect the dresses on Friday and then i will need to get them altered nearer the time.
I've managed to get cars, flowers and shoes organised.
Still got to do:
- invitations (to make)
- groom and best mans kilts
- gifts for mums and dads
- hair and makeup
- favours
- decide who we are actually going to invite (i change my mind all the time)
Am sure i've forgotten something.... keep thinking of all the nice things i want to get but then i forget what they are!!
Also would love a sweetie table but it doesn't look like its going to happen but will see how the money situation goes before the wedding.
Hope everyones plans are coming on nicely

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie to this posting thing, I'm getting married to my lovely fella on 10 September 2011 at Kelmarsh Hall in Northants.
Everyone's ideas sound really exciting! Has anyone got any suggestions for table centres that don't involve flowers/candles? My H2B and future MIL suffer from hayfever and I'm not that keen on having fake flowers, thinking could use this as an opportunity to do something different than fishbowls/mirrors/tealights! any suggestions welcome please!
Good luck with the planning everyone!0 -
Hey
Where is everybody??? This thread has got really quiet.... OK so we've now managed to get the kilts ordered and the gifts for the dads (matching pocket watches) we also bought the stuff to make the invitations.... although not started them yet and still need to buy the paper to print the inserts.
How's everyone getting on?
I can't believe its just over 6 months till our big days

Making progress. Cakes are ordered, more than half the price of the venue has been paid, bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid dresses received although my moh doesnt fit into hers Waiting for my dress to come in. Question: my dress paperwork says it was due in February 2011, but I haven't heard from the shop. Should I phone and chase it or just relax?
Eek. Just over 6 months to go! Still need to sort the flowers, invitations, menus, music and so on.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
