Welcome to the new people here. It really is filling up fast
We're doing ok, I suppose. Trying to get Christmas out of the way before I go too mad on buying wedding bits. Hopefully will be convincing the fella to go to Snetterton Market soon though to have a browse around and see if there are any little bits there that we can find to use for the wedding in any way
We've still not booked the Church, but we do now have the number, so I shall be giving them a call this week some time. Hooray.
I have also been keeping to my plan I made to tell everyone (other than a few people) that the Debenhams dress is my actual dress, so that's going fairly well. I am soooo tempted though to keep going into the shop to put the Sincerity one on. It doesn't help that I walk past the shop almost every day! LOL
I am starting to think about things I can do to slightly modify the dress though. Ive seen it with a sweetheart cut, or a colours ribbon around the waist, which both looked lovely. So I'll just keep thinking...paper lanterns to create a light path to the doorway and along the outside...
I had an idea for using paper lanterns too when I saw them in Hawkin's Bazaar the other week. Mine would be for the tables I think though - with maybe a few dotted in other places?
I then went on a major search for them online and found loads of different colours and styles etc. If you would like all of my links, just PM me and I will send them all over(And anyone else too)

I'm cursing that the VAT rise is screwing up my budget it'll add about an extra £100 to the cost of the venue and food. Booo!
 The only way to get out of it is to settle the cost of the venue in full before 31st December this year so thats going to cause some cash flow problems.
We've got quotes for the honeymoon, its Vegas for 4 nights, san fran for 3 and mexico for 7 it's quite exciting!
I've ordered my dress, it should arrive after Christmas I know it's very soon but I can't wait and I'll feel much better once it safety at my future MiLs house and it was only £236 including hoop - bargain. :j:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

Eeek!
I'm going to be married this year!
Haven't really been doing too much wedding stuff but being an intimate and informal do, there isn't too much to sort.
We paid in full for our ceremony at the register office when we gave our notice of intention in November so we avoided the rise in price which occurs every April. In Sheffield, the register office is in the Town Hall which is a lovely old building... all marble and walnut panels inside which makes it look as grand as a church.
Our reception venue is a local golf club. The room is £50 for the night and a hot buffet is £8.50 a person. In order to help pay for the wedding, I've actually been working at the golf club on a casual basis so I know what they can offer with regards to decorations and DJs etc.I just have to get a few bits from Ikea and Amazon to trim the room up a little more and the owners have said that I can come in the day before and sort everything if I want to so I'm not stressing on the day.
Then I was having a neb online today and we've ended up ordering our wedding rings. I wanted a plain white gold band and my partner has gone for the same. Thanks to being in the sale, my ring was £22 and my H2B's was £38. Both rings are cheaper than my H2B's should have been on its own
I want to lose the half stone I put on over Christmas ()before I start thinking of dresses. Still thinking of ordering from China so need to leave plenty of time for alterations or back-ups if it turns out to be rubbish.
My partner is charged with designing the invitations because he's good at that sort of thing. He's also got a suit to sort out too which his Mum has promised to supervise.
So, it's nice and relaxed at Norton Towers at the moment0 -

Where did you buy your rings from? Was it online? If so, would be really great if you could share the info x'It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection' Elizabeth Gilbert.
