Unfortunately the postcard design doesn't have matching business cards, which I would have used for placecards, so will have to get my thinking cap on!

There wasnt matching brochures to my postacards and business cards so I emailed them and asked them what I could do, a couple of days later I had an email saying they had created and saved the required template in my portfolio so email them and they will fix that for you!

I'm not sure if you all know of the site etsy.com? It's so good, all really lovely handmade things from all over the world (or you can choose to shop locally) and the prices of a lot of the items is really reasonable. If you register, my member name there is BFem85, it asks you how you heard of etsy and asks for referring member - no idea what that does, I suppose just for knowing how people find out about it. Anyway.....they have a category for weddings on the bottom left, and you can get some real bargains for some really gorgeous stuff! xx

P.s - i'm not a seller on it by the way, so i'm not trying to get you on there to buy my stuff!

Buddiebabe - how did you get on with your hotel?

    Hey

Finally got the hotel sorted out on Friday and have paid the deposit so no need to stress anymore about where im going to stay the night before thank goodness!

I have also ordered the cake and paid the deposit

We could have a photographer just need to get access to their website to look at their pics before making final decision.

Still so many things to do and money to save will just need to keep doing things a little bit at a time and see how things go.

    Hows everyone's plans coming along?

Well it was all coming along quite nicely until yesterday.

Venue is booked and the deposit paid.
    Registrar booked and paid.
Band and DJ booked and deposit paid.
Bridesmaids selected and dresses chosen- I will buy these next week.
    Wedding rings bought.
After visiting every single bridal shop in the area I finally chose and bought "The Dress".

Then yesterday. I'd chosen my cars - a 1930s Daimler for me and a mercedes limo for my bridesmaids and mum (a classic one, not a stretch) but hadn't booked them yet as I was waiting for payday to pay the deposit. Then the car company emailed me yesterday to say they're withdrawing the merc from their fleet next year. They have a classic daimler limo which would do the job, but it costs £100 more. Grrrr.

Have found a couple of ads of preloved for the Sincerity dress http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.listadverts/sec-Home+and+Family/cat-Marriage/subcat-Wedding+Clothes+and+Bridal+Wear/keyword-sincerity+3159+wedding+dress/1463f648.html - a lot cheaper than the shop you went to :) And one for the benjamin roberts - http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.listadverts/keyword-benjamin+roberts+2058a/a6a33eac.html - Youre right, they are both really gorgeous!!

You could also try others shops that carry the same designers.....the dress I want (Amanda Wyatt Madrid) is in my local shop for £1100 but found a shop who sells its it for £700!! Pays to shop around.

Someone just pm'd me asking where I found the Madrid dress for £700 - I should've posted that info! It's here http://www.thewardrobeatkinver.co.uk/index.php I first saw them advertising the Madrid dress on ebay, but it sold quite quickly, but they replied saying they can get the dress straight from Amanda Wyatt in either champagne or ivory for £700 delivered. Which is at least £400 cheaper than anywhere else i've seen it. This was a few months ago though so it might be worth checking to make sure they can still get it, plus I havent ordered from there yet so can't comment on what their service is like. They are very friendly and prompt in emails though.

Things are coming along - slowly but surely. Got some calendar magnets and blank business cards (for place cards) from Vistaprint.

But best of all - got the BM dresses on Saturday morning. From Coast outlet at Street Village - these. Not very clear but they are a lovely emerald green which will be lovely in the Greek sunshine! So I also now have the beginnings of a colour theme!!

Now just got to get my invites professionally printed - (as I couldn't print the inserts myself :( due to the pre-cut card) - and posted!!!!

How is everyone else getting on?

  • We're getting married 10th September 2011 :)

Are people still interested in proposal stories? If so let me know :) Ours is potentially going to win me my wedding dress!

I don't want to get accused of spamming so if people are interested to know HOW on earth my proposal story may win me the dress of my dreams let me know and I'll explain! And all you MSE-ers can help me win it too!

But anyway, enough of that for now.

So far we've the wedding ceremony and reception venues booked, photographer booked and save the date cards got from vistaprint. Still need to sort a marquee (anyone know of any good companies round South Yorkshire/Derbyshire please let me know!) and flowers, cake, caterers, bar, bar staff etc etc... God there's so much to do!

    Eek!
