Lol dawnebabe! What a great idea :) I know what you mean though it seems much more fun to buy the 'fun' things like shoes, cake toppers, favours etc than booking the more serious stuff! Are you getting one of the personalised cake toppers? I am thinking of getting one of those, they are so cute!

I've ordered the gold topper from here http://boogiebabys.co.uk/default.aspx I thought it was a really good price, very mse compared to some out there!

I'm having it made with OH wearing a Liverpool FC strip with his foot on a ball & my red shoes just peeking out from underneath my dress! OH has no idea, he has seen the style of them but doesn't know what his figure is going to be wearing! It's going to have his surname on the back of the shirt too & a number 8 (Steven Gerrard's number!!) I hope he'll like it!!

Hello again, September 2011 brides and grooms.

Plans have all stalled because it is all so far away - in time AND distance! Can't choose a reception venue until we know numbers; won't know numbers till we get replies to the invites that haven't even been chosen yet, let alone printed and posted! Etc etc. :(

I keep looking for BM dresses, as that seems to be the only thing I can actually do at the moment. But as I can't even decide on a colour I want....well, it's just not coming together!

Just wanted to have a little moan and groan. Want to get on with things!!!

How's everyone elses plans going? Are any of you getting married abroad? If so, what's the groom wearing? Me and OH2B can't agree on his outfit either!:undecided

    Hi all,

Can I join you? I'm getting married 9th Spet 2011. We did our first bit of organising at the weekend - booked the reception venue! Did it a bit topsy turvy as still need to book the registry office but hopefully we'll be ok for that day! Anyway am in work so just wanted to say a quick hi, and I'll be reading the thread properly later.

  • We've now paid our photographer the deposit, theres a link to the engagement shoot knocking around on the forum.

Some fabric swatches arrived so we can get round to choosing the menswear colours which in turn will influence the dress colours.

I've looked at some real flowers - the silk ones are still winning I think based on budget and practicallity I can't bear to think a bouquet of flowers costing goodness knows how much will die a few days later!

We've just paid our photographer deposit as well, and put down a deposit on the wedding car that we are having.

    Next jobs........
    1) Book the registrar at 9am on 3rd September, ha ha!
    2) Thinking about going to try on some dresses with BM's, one of them is going away for a few months in October.
    3) Looking at flowers.

I agree Martine I'm swaying towards artificial flowers now, I can't justify the prices that some florists are charging.

  • Hello all and congratulations.

All being well, I'm planning on being a September 2011 bride. We're hoping for the 16th (a Friday) as we're forgoing the traditional day of mass celebrations and having a more intimate affair during the day with a big party in the evening.

Just waiting on a call back from the Register Office but we want a late afternoon spot so that the day can be spent with our close family (parents, grandparents, siblings), having a meal before the ceremony and getting all the gushy stuff out of the way (and a few bottles of wine probably!

Then it's a quick do at the Register Office before going on to a party with all our rowdy mates and the extended family in the evening.

We've got a fairly tight budget as moving out and getting our own place is the priority but by September, we should hopefully be either in our own home or very close to being so it would be nice to start as we mean to go on... as Mr and Mrs.

The "princess for a day" thing really isn't my style and the H2B isn't really into fuss so not only does relaxed and informal suit our personalities, but also our budget :)
