I'm using them for my sale and purchase. I'm fairly happy so far, they seem to turn the paper work round quickly. I did however ask for an update on Monday by email and the response was I would be receiving more correspondence by Thursady which I did but it was just more forms to sign and I really wanted to know if the searches were back and how far away we were from excahange etc so I think you need to be more specific. It can be hard getting to speak to the solicitor or her assistant as they are so busy but they do return calls the same day though might not be till 6pm. Hope this helps.

    Hi...

This might be the better thread to read...

  • As all of the comments are so psitive I thought I would tell you about my experience. We are using conveyancing warehouse for the second time, we had to pull out of the sale on the first house, but until then they were just as good as everyone says so we used them a second time. As I am writing this we are still to exchange, but we have had some troubles with them this time.

Firstly, almost all the letters they have sent have not enclosed the information required and we have been constantly chasing them to resend us the correct information.

We have also been lied to on the progress of searches, being told one day all replies have been received and then being told that there are some still outstanding

Finally we have been moved between three different assistants and two solicitors in the 7 weeks since instructing them, (one lleft, but we were told she was on holiday for two weeks!!!).

All in all we havce probably been unlucky, but after 7 weeks we are still at least 2 weeks away from exchange and I would not use them again
  • AVOID CONVEYANCING WAREHOUSE (I.E ROBERTS SOLICITORS) AND OTHER CHEAP ONLINE CONVEYANCING OUTLETS!

IF SOMETHING (their price) IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT USUALLY IS!

it seems for every person on this forum whose had a success with online conveyancing there is another who has had a nightmare...you are taking a chance with your transaction for a relatively small amount of moneysaving.

on this forum there have also been legal professionals who have worked for these type of firms warning against their incompotence and terrible service

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED :money:

They handled a remortgage adequately for me a couple of months ago.
However, the current purchase that I have with them has not been so smooth. In the six weeks since it started I have been told that both the solicitor dealing with my case and her assistant have left the firm. Yesterday I was told that the latest delay was due to the new person having just returned from a weeks holiday. I know this is not true as I spoke to her last week in the office.

Roberts Solicitors (CW) will not be used again.

Well, we have got an exchange/completion date of 17th August-which we are trying to change to 14th - but CW have been very competent turning around paperwork and returning emails (not too good at returning phone calls though).

I have just been told that sarah bushell is on holiday for two weeks which worried me, but rania has told me that she is qualified to see our case through to completion. rania has, in fact, been very good in updating me - the one thing I would point out is if there isn't any news/update, they don't return your call, as there is nothing to tell you.

The purchaser's solicitor had instructed a personal search company to undertake searches and they quoted 8-10 days (which has taken nearer 14!) - I don't understand why they did this as the LA only take 3-4 days!!  I know that CW sometimes use a search company, but I let them know that the LA's turnaround time was 6 days, so they didn't use a search company, and the searches were back within 4 days.:D

All in all, so far I am very happy with CW and hopefully this will continue until completion.:T

We've exchanged with CW two weeks ago - while they seemed to be a bit lazy in between, in the end they got their act together - they returned phone calls, answered all questions and even exchanged in our absence while we were on vacation.

We are completing on Monday, and the only thing that surprised me is that they hadn't produced a completion statement (especially with Royal Mail on strike!) until I phoned them today and asked about how much money I'd need to send them tomorrow ... they then sent me an email with all the necessary details.

So, in summary, I wouldn't say they're bad, they're just like any other conveyancing firm.

Communication was great with them up until we pulled out, then suddenly, no emails returned, as they held £200 for searches which I didn't end up instructing.

I then sent a letter recorded and sent ANOTHER email asking to confirm receipt of both email and letter, then I receive a reply.

They said they have sent back contracts and will be in touch shortly regarding fees/refund.

I'm not impressed to be honest, won't use them if we do go back out looking for something else.

  • I'm currently buying with CW and not overly happy with the service. The phrase "disinterested" would probably sum them up best. Maybe this shouldn't be a suprise with an online conveyancer but I'd read a lot of good reviews before using them. It may well depend on who you get dealing with your case, I won't name names but my solicitor has not been mentioned by anyone else on the thread.

Anyway, I'm into week 10 since instructing and still not exchanged yet, there is no onward chain for them use as an excuse. Any e-mail I send is generally read and then never replied to (read receipts!). If I phone it's usually not possible to get through to anyone who can help, I'm promised someone will phone back but they generally don't!

I'm loathe to complain in case they move me even further down the work pile! I should point out they've not done anything technically *wrong*, but if you're looking for a quick turnaround and ready access to your solicitor, try elsewhere (I wish I had).
