I'm a mum (quickly ducks from flying missiles) I use parent and child spaces for one reason only - so that I can get my small son out of the car without damaging another persons car. You have to open the door wide to get him out without banging his head on the door frame and this is difficult in a normal space and I worry about my door hitting another cars door and causing a scratch. I would use the parent and child space regardless of where it was positioned!

I travelled to London just before Christmas and due to a fatality was an hour and a half delayed and missed dinner with friends. They sent me £16 GNER voucher..better than nothing!

That was kind of GNER considering the reason behind the delay :)
No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow. :kisses2:
  • I bought a digital freeview box from asda and sent it back they offered me a full refund or and exchange. :D
  • Refferring to GNER being rubbish...I agree. I once got a train from Leeds to London using my Young Persons railcard, annoyingly I forgot my railcard but had my tickets, the guard was so rude he bullied me into giving him my debit card even though i said i didnt have enough money to cover the difference. He charged me not only the difference but a BRAND NEW TICKET that cost £60!! A guy saw the event and walked over and gave me the name of the MD of GNER I wrote and complained and got the money back in GNER vouchers plus an apology for the rudeness of the guard. GNER have cost me a lot of money in the past, should've complained before!
  • I seem to have had quite alot to complain about recently! This week I got:

    1. £3 voucher from Walkers as 2 out of 6 packs of Wotsits had no crisps in them.

    2. £3 cheque from Nestle as I had 3 packs of Milkybar buttons in a multipack that had no buttons in them.

    3. £20 voucher from Boots as I couldnt get the baby wipes out of the packet as there was no hole!

I am not a serial complainer, honestly! I havnt complained about lots of things that I should have, but its my New Year Resolution to not accept bad service and complain when things are not right. So far so good.

Glad I'm not the only one. I've travelled up and down to London once every 3 weeks for the past 4 years and have suffered terrible CS a lot of the time. I think of all the times I've had a service I haven't been happy with, I've only complained twice. Mainly because it's a waste of my time, resulting mostly in nothing.

Similar to your complaint, last year I had purchased a ticket (a saver return, which they say is valid for a month) intending to stay away from home for the month (example, ticket bought from December 12 until January 12). I had explained this is what I wanted to the girl who sold me a ticket. All was well and dandy. She said this was fine as the tickets were valid for a month. The tickets themselves only had a valid from date printed on them, not a valid to date. Anyway, I went away, and came back as planned, January 14. Uh Oh....The big bad inspector caught me out. "This is expired blah blah blah these are valid for one calendar month which means a month minus a day". I explained to him I was not explained this, and in my own naive mind, did not know myself WHAT a calendar month was. No avail. I was asked to pay the full ticket fare plus an admin charge (total £110!!!!). I didn't have the money on me, nor did I have my card. Needless to say the rude man insisted on having my name and address and telephone number. 2 months later I got a letter requesting I pay the £110 in full and if not paid, the matter would be pursued legally. It took a total of 4 months, I believe, of writing back and forth, endless phonecalls, endless explanations on my part of WHAT I WAS TOLD when I purchased my tickets. Endless explanations, again on my part, that I made sure before I bought them, that the girl at the train station knew when I was leaving and returning. In the end they waved the £100 ticket, and asked me to pay an admin fee of £10 but still made me feel guilty about it in the end result. Just a little experience for everyone ever having to deal with GNER. Be prepared to wait. It took me 6 months from the incident to have this weight lifted from my shoulders.
