kellywelly - People like you p1ss me off! - why moan about something you don't understand?!

why should you get a space nearer to the door over someone who has to safely get their baby plus 1 (for example), I expect you think the world owes you a favour! God help you get pregant and ever need the 'child and parent' space! I expect you moan cos there is a seat in every trolly for a kid to sit in etc.....

Sorry if I upset you but I actually do not understand what you are upset about, if you read my original post properly you would have read that I was sitting in my car while my baby girl was asleep, I have 3 kids and know exactly what it is like to be pregnant!!!
As to everyone else that thinks I do not know what I am talking about, far from it guys, my mother is disabled and the holder of blue badges, she has all sorts of problems and basically can't leave the house without a portable nebuliser, but on a good day I would agree that when she is walking slowley you would probably not think there is anything wrong with her, but the struggle we had to get her to be allowed to have her badges was dreadful!!
Only after all her specialist letters from the Royal Brompton Hospital was her appeal allowed.
As I stated in my earlier post, the 3 incidents I saw not one of these people looked like they met the criteria that is needed to enable them to have the Blue Badges.

This is extremely unfair!!!! My oh suffers from epilepsy, if we had a car he would be issued a disabled permit! He is able bodied and fit, but being disabled doesnt mean that you are in a wheelchair!!!
I also have an uncle who suffers from chronic asthma, again he looks fit and healthy but has a disabled permit!

Just curious, but if your OH is able bodied and fit why would he even consider using a permit to park in a disabled parking space if he if perfectly able to walk accross the car park?

I think that kellywelly is making a valid point in an emotive way. Maybe some people are having knee jerk emotive reactions in response without taking note or considering what she is actually saying.

It isn't by sheer coincidence that the logo for disabled parking is often recognisable by a wheelchair symbol. This is to notify drivers that the person requiring this parking space is physically hindered in some way and finds mobility difficult and/or painful. For this they are granted a pass to allow them to park closer to thier destination and limit the travelling by foot that they might have to endure. This is an attempt to prevent able bodied people, who are not entitled to this priviledge, from taking up these spaces.

A friend passed away last year. She had ms. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been told by other people closer to her. She was an amazing and beautiful person and lived life to the full. I couldn't imagine in a million years that she would have ever used a disabled parking bay.

If disability permits are being handed out to people who have no mobility problems and the conscience of the individual is not enough to prevent them abusing the system then then the scheme is in serious need of reform.

My oh is epileptic, yes he looks fit and well, but as he is epileptic he doesnt want to drive so he doesnt have a badge. I was just saying that as he has this he has been told he would be entitled to one, but as neither of us drive we dont!!

No one is disputing that disabilities can are only physical...

What we are trying to say, is some people can have a disability, but if it doesn't hinder their walk from the car to the shop and doesn't require any extra space (i.e. getting into a wheelchair etc) then they don't really need to use a disabled space....

For instance, if someone is deaf in one ear then they could be classed as disabled and that is correct, but it shouldn't affect them walking 50m to the shop rather than 10m.

Has anyone complained to KFC? I went to my local restaurant and was disgusted at the mess and filthy tables. I also had to wait 40 mins in the queue as there was only one person serving. There are telephone numbers in the shop to ring to make a complaint, but when I rang it was the shop I'd just been in and I dont have the nerve to rant and rave, I'd rather write or e mail. I've looked on the web site but it just gives telephone numbers

Complained to Asda about the indian meals for 2 as the chicken was in one big lump and was disgusting and they have sent me a cheque refunding my money
  • No - but the title needs to change
I just bought a new car and changed my policy over with Tesco. They had the cheek to charge me £15.75 for the gargantuan 15 second task done over the phone, presumably because they also have to print the certificate on a laser printer and post it

Anyway, I wrote a letter explaining how I though it was opportunist and got a cheque back the the whole "administration fee"

Gits, I'll be cancelling with them next month now, as they're £120 more expensive than Liverpool Victoria, according to my quotes so far...
I got charged £25 admin fee in Oct o6-do you think there is a chance i could have this refunded? When i first rang up i was informed that i could place policy on my vehicle at that time (was acquiring new vehicle the following week) and have it transferred over, they did make me aware of admin fee but indicated it would be likely i would have this waived as transder was within the first week.

    Thanks
