After a quick look at the Wickes website I think this page covers the problems you're having.

    http://www.wickes.co.uk/pcat/returnsandrefunds

    Damaged products
In the unlikely event that a product has been damaged during delivery, we will exchange the product or provide you with a full refund, within 30 days of receiving it. We can either pick up the product and despatch a replacement, or alternatively, you can return the product to your nearest Wickes store with your proof of purchase.

To arrange for the product to be collected send an e-mail to weborders@wickes.co.uk with your order number, the details of product to be returned and whether you would like a refund or replacement.

    Call us on 0870 601 1216, 8:00am - 8:00pm Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm on Saturdays and 10:00am - 4:00pm on Sundays

I'd start by contacting their customer services on that number and work from there as the store aren't being helpful. After you have a replacement pallet of slabs then put a formal complaint in against the local store Manager.

    but a baby is a choice a disability isn't

    Great post Little John.

IMHO I think "mothers and babies" have it too easy as it is. Why do they get spaces right near to the door the same as disabled people. Ok they need extra space to get in and out of the car with kids, but do they have a problem with their walking too?!?!

I'[m ready for the barrarge of abuse from mums, but I don't care what the excuse is, if you park in a disabled bay when you aren't disabled then you are as bad a perfectly fit and healthy 25 year old male who parks in there "just for 2 minutes"....

I Think We Dont Complain Enough If We Experiance A Bad Service Or Product We Should Complain. "dont You Agree".

I agree. I've spoken to many people who are very angry about a service but when push comes to shove they won't complain. Things won't change unless someone gets up and does something about it!

Last time i was in Nando's my chicken had a hair on it (Glued to it by suace) when it arrived. Emailed them about a week ago, they replied asking when the incident happened - havent heard since.

Has anyone else had problem with Nando's or other similar incidents in chain restuarants?
Just that they didnt seem too concerned.

    Days4dreams

Yes. I went to Nando's with my OH and ordered a mild chicken burger. It came spicy, and with a bone running right though it. Manager didn't care, emailed the 'customer services' who were very rude but did send a voucher for another meal (minus drinks and sides which we originally purchased!) so we went back and the exact same thing happened and got food poisoning! Didn't want yet another terrible meal so left it.

Very good customer services from Boots though. 2 days before Christmas I went instore and at the top of the escalator tripped over some packing material discarded by a shelf stacker. My OH caught me but if he hadn't I would have fallen face first down the escalator. The staff around didnt care but they did grab the packing material and discard of it! I ended up with a bruised ankle - wrote to Boots and got an apology letter and £50 gift card.

Also wrote to M&S when they refused to give me change on a gift voucher - I complained that if you pay for a £10 voucher you expect to be able to spend £10, and if you spend £9.50 to get 50p back! They apologised and sent me £20 vouchers (and asked for name of the store etc to tell them correct policy).

I wouldn't bother ever complaining to Barclays - even with the worst breaches of security and customer service you barely get an apology. CDWOW are terrible too - often have to wait 2 weeks to get a DVD whereas Play takes 2-3 days, and if it's broken or just never comes, it takes them another week to even dispatch another. Terrible. Also wouldn't bother complaining to Beefeater - in fact DON'T EAT in Beefeater (I'll spare you why).

I must shout about this one, especially as it was a polite email of enquiry to MR, where I expected nothing because of the age of the product, and they completely surprised me and came up trumps.

In August 2005 I bought a set of Mark Hill straighteners, seriously reduced from £80 to £30 as part of my teenage girls' Christmas box. Recently, there has been the smell of burning when in use. Upon inspection the ceramic covering had worn away in four places.

After a polite email stating my surprise etc, I was called and offered a replacement set, which retail at more than the cost of my original unreduced purchase. They arrive this Friday.

Thank you Morphy Richards, fantastic customer service.

    Hi!

Sent an email to McDonalds because every time I go through the drive-thru, my order is incorrect.

Never thought about complaining before as normally I've already driven away but after reading this thread thought I may as well.

Well anyway, I received an email back from them and they thanked me for bringing it to my attention and said they have posted a voucher to me - they didn't say what though but it's for McDonalds so can't be bad!! :D

Will let you know what I get when it comes! :j

I sent an e-mail to SCJohnson about an Oust aerosol that smelt disgusting, almost like gas! Here's the reply I got..

    Dear _______,

    Thank you for your email.

The Oust Aerosol you describe should not smell the way you describe.

It is possible that you have a faulty product, normally we would ask for the product's
batch number but this item was been discontinued about five months ago.

In light of your disappointment I have sent you a voucher in the post to enable you to try another Oust Aerosol.

Thank you for contacting SC Johnson.

    Yours sincerely

Having a close family member in a wheelchair you can understand why people are frustrated. A baby is not a disability. Many shopping trips have ended in us going home without even parking due to cars parked in disabled bays without badges, IMHO I think that it's selfish, I'm sorry if this offends anyone but people spend too much time thinking about their needs and not about the consequences. Pay the fine and learn from it. I'm sure the OP wouldn't like it if I parked in a mother and baby space.

I totally agree with this post.

My grandad was disabled and I used to take him different places and very rarely we could get a disabled parking space which meant having to leave.

He couldn't get out much as it was but having to struggle getting him into the car then having to return home again just because someone couldn't be bothered to walk a bit further from the car park to the building is very frustrating!

I think the issue with the mother here needs to be dropped. It's gone on enough pages now what's the point in re-hashing the same as what other people here have said? Just drop it.
