Complaint Letter Successes
Comments

Noi have had lots of refunds/hampers/charge-free months etc - but only when writing letters about genuine and on-going complaints.
i've always found it's best to write to the chief exec, customer services rarely worth bothering with.
if you have a genuine complaint - go for it!Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!0 -
how do you get the chief exec? I have tried for avon and boots to no avail?

I find that Google is your friend when you're trying to find the names of people to complain to. A quick search comes up with:-
Boots - Chief Executive - Richard Baker
Avon - President UK & Ireland - Andrea Slater
Rimmel - they are owned by Coty so try writing to:-
Hans-Joachim Honigfort
President,
Coty Beauty Europe
Coty Beauty UK/Lancaster Group UK
St. George's House
5 St. George's Road
Wimbledon, SW19 4 DR

Hope that's of some help!0 -

I had good service from John Lewis in June.
Had a fridge freezer delivered by them. Whilst the delivery team were moving it into the kitchen they accidentally ripped the vinyl flooring slightly. This was noted on the delivery sheet. A few days later the delivery manager phoned to ask me to get a quote for replacing the whole kitchen flooring with a similar product to the original. They happily paid the £466.60 quote from Carpet Right and also compensated me £45.00 towards a day's loss of earnings as I took a half day off work to have the flooring fitted. Cost of Fridge Freezer £399.00.
Also brought 4 packs of sheets from them, one of which was reduced by 50%. The sales assistant noticed this when I went to pay and reduced the other 3 packs by the same amount before I had even noticed the reduced item.0 -
NoI recently complained to Innocent drinks who sell a range in Starbucks. I found what seemed to be a splinter in my Juicy Water. They offered to send me vouchers or some smoothies. Also complained to McDonalds via e-mail after finding a black hair in my Big Mac, the response was "All of our staff wear hats so it could not have been from us" I spent the night in a Travelodge just before Christmas. It seemed one half of the hotel was the "nice" half while the other was filthy. Our room was down a dingy corridor, the whole corridor stank of curry. The room was dark, beds were too hard, and there was damp on the wallpaper causing black patches. The staff would not move our rooms, no explanation, a simple "No we cant do that". Contacted them when I got home and heard nothing back.0

Has anyone else had problem with Nando's or other similar incidents in chain restuarants?
Just that they didnt seem too concerned.

NoHave tried complaining and Im not getting anywhere, does anyone have any ideas please?
I went to boots on a large retail park as I had to get nappies URGENTLY for my baby (I will spare you the details) the 2 mother and baby spaces were taken so I parked in disabled, came out and changed baby on back seat of the car, looked up and a man was walking away who had just slapped a £50 fine on cos I wasnt dispaying a disabled badge, he said he didnt see me, my backside was sticking out of the open car door!!. I paid and appealed to CMS who wouldnt do anything so I contacted Boots, they didnt do anything. I then emailed Boots head office who appealed to cms on my behalf but said they couldnt do anything. Have just rung cms again (16 weeks after incident) and he is still reviewing it.
I was really upset about this, any ideas appreciated.

SOME customers just dont understand that its not the sales assistants fault that their product is faulty, or that there is not something in stock they'd like!
Its really nice to know that both managers and customers are praising those who work well.
Unbelievable what some people complain about it really is.
I couldn't agree more! Having worked in retail/hospitality for many years, sometimes you can try your best but there are a few people out there who simply do not wish to be pleased. Happily I am able to say these are a minority - but boy! do they put a downer on your day when they decide to kick up a fuss over nothing. I think if you have done your best to deal with a complaint to no avail, you just have to tell yourself they must be pretty sad and not have much in their life if all they can do is try to make your life that bit more difficult.0 -

No offence but you shouldn't have parked in a disabled bay. I'm sure the normal spaces weren't that much further away, they never are. It's unlucky that the mother and baby spaces were all gone, especially if the people in them didn't have babies, but that's just life. In my experience with parking attendants they never give, no matter what the circumstances are. They'll do anything to make money. I didn't know they have them in car parks of industrial estates though, that just seems unnecessary.0
