    Hiya, retail manager here.
I agree with most of your comments, however unless the staff have personally made the products or been responsible for 'buying' them in themselves why should they be on the receiving end of (very often) a rant from a customer if something is defective or poor quality. This happens all to often, especially after the Christmas period when returns are at their highest, if something isn't up to the standard you expect then by all means say so, the same goes for anything faulty, but can the shop assistant who sold it to you/ handling the return be held responsible for that fact, and in many cases be spoken down too and generally treated abysmally by the customer (please note, I know not everyone is like this)?
    Just my point of view.

If you look at most post you will see I said that staff are the ones who are unlucky enough to receive the complaints, which isn't right. Especially if it's about a product, someone higher up should be held responsible, but often they are not accesible to the customer. If it is customer service that the customer is unhappy with then it is the staff who should be on the receiving end, because it's their fault. Or perhaps the manager for not training them properly. If I complain I never talk down to staff because I know it's not nice to have it happen to you, I just don't see the point and often it gets you nowhere, I'm just saying that in some situations some people are justified to do be upset at the staff.

I'm a big fan of writing letters, complaint and complimentry. I recently got back from a river cruise in Germany. I won't go into too much detail but I was really let down by the service of the company (Cancelled trips, missed ferry's, people left behind at ferry port and an 8 hour bus journey with only one rest stop!)

The company (Travelscope) gave the attitude that they didn't really care and have offered us £16 pp back of the £300 spent. As well vowing to never travel with them again or never recommend them I will be sending a follow-up letter. All companys have problems that can occur with their products but a good company should be able to deal with them in such a way that leaves the customer satisfied. Only a bad company manages to annoy an already angry customer further!

Last summer we stayed in a travelodge, the room they gave us hadnt been cleaned, there were dirty towels on the floor, bed wasnt made etc. Complained on the spot and they refunded the money that we had paid for our breakfasts. Complained again when I got hoe as I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the area manager and got the cost of our room refunded.
Emailed Huggies last night to complain that the apck ofpull ups I am using at the moment has had several that are not sealed down one side and are unusable but no reply yet.

No offence but you shouldn't have parked in a disabled bay. I'm sure the normal spaces weren't that much further away, they never are. It's unlucky that the mother and baby spaces were all gone, especially if the people in them didn't have babies, but that's just life. In my experience with parking attendants they never give, no matter what the circumstances are. They'll do anything to make money. I didn't know they have them in car parks of industrial estates though, that just seems unnecessary.

With mother and baby spaces its not about distance to the store you need extra space to get car seat out.
For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.

I have been on coach trips before (to Spain from Manchester was the furthest) and they stopped every 30 minutes for a cigarette break. Was well pi**ed off. We would of got there in half the time with less breaks.

Worst thing was it was at night, I finally got to sleep (not easy on a coach) and then they'd stop and if the stopping itself didn't wake me, the fat ar*es walking down the coach would...

I went to boots on a large retail park as I had to get nappies URGENTLY for my baby (I will spare you the details) the 2 mother and baby spaces were taken so I parked in disabled, came out and changed baby on back seat of the car, looked up and a man was walking away who had just slapped a £50 fine on cos I wasnt dispaying a disabled badge, he said he didnt see me, my backside was sticking out of the open car door!!. I paid and appealed to CMS who wouldnt do anything so I contacted Boots, they didnt do anything. I then emailed Boots head office who appealed to cms on my behalf but said they couldnt do anything. Have just rung cms again (16 weeks after incident) and he is still reviewing it.

Why did you think you had a right to inconvenience a disabled person just because you have a child?

Would something terrible have happened to the baby if you hadn't changed its nappy within a set time? I'm sure like a lot of out of town places the car park was large and the far end unused with lots of space to open doors. You were using a space you weren't entitled to, you got caught, simple.

As for Boots not having nappy changing facilities, do they have toilet facilities for male/female/disabled who spend equally as much in the store or again are you expecting something extra just because you have a child?

I'm gald you said it because i was think about it but maybe in different words !! at the end of the day boots don't have control of the parking as they don't own the car park they just rent the building.

Can I just say I think people are getting a little excited regarding this poor mother who parked in the Disabled space within the carpark @ boots.

Ok Boots is not at fault,

Ok the mother should have parked elsewhere, But come on people we have all done it at one point.

Unless you have been in that situation before then lets be quiet, and try and help the mother.
