No - but it should be moved to another board
I bought some Foam bananas & shrimps sweets from Sainsburys (I know, how old am I!) and at the bottom was a big clump covered in what tasted like (didnt look before stuffing it in my mouth  ) tomato ketchup.

Sent the clump and the wrapper to sainsburys address on the back of the pack, and got a letter yesterday telling me they're looking into it.

Feel like a bit of a numpty! the letter began with 'I'm very sorry you found a foreign substance on your foam banana..' !

Complained to Cadbury's about a box of 4 mint choc chip cornettos (my favourite) having no wafer/waffle cone - received a letter today stating the wafer cones come inside the paper wrappers from the manufacturers then they add the chocolate and the ice cream. It appears that a batch passed through the quality control missing their wafer cones so the ice cream just got put inside the paper wrapper! Enclosed a £3 voucher for my 'distress'!

Complained to Ovaltine Max for Milk about the difficulty in mixing the powder (having lumps of powder in the kids milkshakes), apparantely it is my technique? I followed the instructions on the jar but I need to work on my technique obviously. As a gesture of goodwill they sent me £1 x 2 vouchers!

  • I complained to Tesco's about the quality and lack of their fruit and veg - they actually had mouldy oranges on display! All i got back was a letter saying they would look into why that happened?! After the recent announcements of how much profit Tesco's make you'd think that they could put a voucher in with that letter!!

Have sent off a complaint to Clinique, i used to use quite a lot of their products but now they never hand out any samples and the staff refuse to let anyone use the products for 'hygiene reasons', strange but it includes pump jars, tubes, etc and not jars where people will obviously be dipping their fingers into. Told them they have lost a valued customer, how can i purchase anymore products when i cant try it first? Guess the biggest companies are the worst.

Emailed Lush, asked them what their policy is on sending out samples as i live in the middle of nowhere and dont fancy forking out for a big put of facecream without trying it first. Was offered some soap and shampoo samples anyway, and there was something about 'they send out samples when an order is placed'. Might be able to get into one of their stores next month (fingers crossed, off on holiday again) and get some samples there and then.

Heath and Heather herbal tea, picked up a box oneday and didnt notice til much later there was no use by date on it. After several months of dithering, they eventually sent out a 2 pound voucher. But the conditon with the voucher was i could only use it to buy *one* item that cost more than 2 pounds, making for an awkward time at the shop counter.

I think tesco customer service is appaling actually, I wrote to them recently with a couple of complaints. they wrote back agreeing that they were problems and apologised for my poor experiences but nothing else. I wasn't writing in order to get vouchers but two members of staff had been amazingly rude when I was in store and the letter did nothing to satisfy me that it won't happen again or that they really do care!

I agree Tesco are dreadful, I also have had cause to complain to them recently, due to a problem we had in their cafe, we ended up leaving our food as we were disgusted by the cleanliness of the cafe, food cost 13.54 and Tesco sent letter and £5.00 gift card, go figure!
