I had to email Peter Keenan (Managing Director) last week for my Sister-in-law. She doesn't like to complain but knows that I love it.

She had a laptop that had got faulty USB ports and the bezel around the screen was cracking. I went to the store with her to collect and we were told PC Services would not fix it as it was customer damage and USB ports wear out and are not covered. The manager agreed with us that both faults should be covered and rang PC services to try and sort it out. They point blank refused.

I emailed the boss and CCed customer services. I explained that the manager agreed with us and as our guarantee should be with the store not a repair company it should be sorted out. Also pointed out that he had put his name to a promise about great service on the back of all the reciept folders (cheeky but also true)

Yesterday she got a recorded letter with an apology and £350 of vouchers to get a new laptop.:j :j  :j

Not always this successful but it feels good when it happens.:rotfl:

I have written a letter of complaint to Whiskas. I purchased the 12 sachets of whiskas oh so fishy and was gobsmacked when I realised they had cost me £3.99 for the 12 sachets. Then kittys didn't eat it. Tescos cat food is only £1.90ish for 12 so I told them it is vastly overpriced and over-rated

Yesterday, I receive a reply regarding my complaint. Whiskas sent me a £5.00 money off voucher as a goodwill gesture.

    Any chance of some advice?

Im having problems with HMV online at the mo. I ordered DVDs on the 2nd of sep and they said they'd take around 10 days to deliver. There's still no sign of them and my account area now says that they are waiting for more stock. I actually got em for my BF's birthday which was on th 13th but they were a bargain ao i guess i can keep em for crimbo if they ever arrive.

I dont compaing v often and i was jsut wondering if you sucessful complainers actually ask for compensation or if you just complain and hope they'll sort it out with compo?

Just seems a bit cheeky to ask for something and i dont know how to phrase it!
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I wouldn't ask for compensation outright.

I would point out that this was the first time you had used the online service (if it was), explain that they were for a present and ordered in time for the Birthday, tell them that you have been very dissapointed and let down by the whole process. Then ask them if they had an expected arrival time as they are out of stock.

I'm sure Argos should have dealt with it for you, you should check that out. I always thought the people you buy the product from has the responsibility of refunding/replacing faulty items. You should complain to Argos and to Hauck.

Yep, you guessed right! I believe there have been numerous problems with them blowing up etc but I didn't know they could overheat and badly singe and damage my hair! Have to say thought that I have had no problems with the replacement.
