Because its basically just a template letter, where they change the name, Dear........., and even though they state sorry if her customer service was so poorly handled, she deserves a lot more.

I would suggest taking it further.

Sorry folks bit long this one.....

I complained to Virgin Trains a few years back about the kids packs they give away on the train. Inside was a little chequebook thing with 8 pages, if you filled in each page and got it stamped and signed by the guard the kids could send of for a free t.shirt.

So we went on 8 journey's with virgin trains, filled in 2 cheque books, (one each for both my sons) and sent them off (at the begining of september) and then forgot all about it.

the following year, we went to london for the day and they gave us 2 more bags, and inside was the cheque book thing again.

So I wrote to Virgin trains complaining about not reciveing the T.shirts, presuming we had missed out last time, and that my sons had remembered about them on the trip to london as they had got some new bags, and wanted to do it all again to get a t.shirt.

1 week later got a really nice letter from virgin trains, they were really sorry they had missed out the first time, that they had found some of last years books which had been put on one side after they had run out of t.shirt, but had been forgotton about. They promised that they would be sending the t.shirts out asap.

Enclosed was £70 of Rail vouchers to put towards a days out for us.:j

2 days later, 2 virgin train t.shirts arrived and 2 more train goody bags with a few extra books inside, and 2 pairs or virgin train head phone for the kids.

I think Virgin Trains have got a really good customer service team!!!

I wrote back to them thanking them and telling them what excellent customer services they had.

As I would have been happy to recieve 2 T.shirts!!

No - but it should be moved to another board
Malmaison hotel was quite rubbish; I paid for my dinner there when I was staying and in the middle of the night, I got very ill with food poisoning. They offered to call a doctor at MY expense so I left it and then in the morning they made me fill out a form; a week later I got a letter from them saying nobody else got ill so there is nothing they can do. I thought a refund for the food would have been in order.

My partner bought me 2 pairs of shorts there the other day - I wore one pair for an hour to walk on the treadmill at the gym and found that they were bobbling very badly.
I emailed their customer service dept to get a stock email back which showed they hadnt even bothered to read my email. So I then emailed the customer service team at Arcacia (the company that owns Evans amongst others). I explained that now I was unhappy with the product and the service and sent photos of the problem only to get the same email that I got from Evans customer service - word for word.
I have sent off a really polite but severe email back to them explaining the sale of goods act. If I dont get anywhere this time I will be writing to the CEO.

They were £12 but to take them back to the shop woould cost me £6 in travel expenses so I am not returning them to the shop to be out of pocket.

I'm really surprised you got such bad customer service from Evans as like I've mentioned they were quite good with me. I emailed them at customer.service@evans.co.uk I got an automatic response at first just to say they were looking into it and then a few days later someone emailed me asking me if I could send the bra back to them at a freepost address which I did and they sent me a cheque and a gift card a few weeks later.

Why not just wait until you are near the shop for something else. I am sure moist Evans are in town centers so when you go for something else take them back then.

The problem with email is its not instant. They get hundreds of them its much easier to wait until you are back near the store for something else then take them back

    Hello
Would anyone have some contact details for me for "SIMPLE"...?
On their website there is either a form to fill in or a phone number - I would quite like to get an email address, or mail, as I would like to include some pics (my deodorant stick just broke into pieces after a couple of weeks :( , its unusable now - first time I was going for a known, more expensive, brand of deodorant  )

    Thank you

i have never complained about anything before in my life, but after reading this i have started to make a bit of fuss if things are not right, which i believe we all should do more.

I bought a multipack of mccoys crisps, 2 of the bags had only 1 crisp in, normally i would have just thrown them away and thought no more about it. I emailed united biscuits who own mccoys and explained the problem, giving all barcodes and i was very polite about it and just said i didnt think it was good enough.
The very next day i had a letter from them apologising and £6 of vouchers, they also thanked me for letting them know about the problem which i think was very good customer service.
