Bought some GHDs last summer, and recently they've just stopped heating up properly. They want me to send them back to them, but I'm a bit reluctant.. They cost over £100! Anything else I can do?
my ghds were about 3 years old and way past the one year warranty. anyways the wire split even though i never coiled the wire around them or anything and always looked after them. i sent an email and they asked my to send them in, i did (recorded delivery so they do not get lost) and i recieved an email saying they are sorry they broke as they could tell i looked after them and as they didnt make the parts for mine anymore due to the release of the new models they couldnt fix them, but offered me the new model at half price with free delivery, unfortunatley i didnt have the money to buy them at the time and i didnt get them. i still have the email though so i think i will ask if they are still willing to give me some half price lol.freebies so far... horlicks chocolate malt, comfort samples
Trails done.... blackhead face mask
Success with compaints... £2.50 from Cadburys0 -
NoI RECENTLY HAD AN UNPLEASANT EXPERINCE WHEN VISITING MY LOCAL STAR BUCKS. I SENT A MESSAGE TO HEAD OFFICE VIA THEIR WEBSITE AND WITHIN 3 DAYS HAD A VERY NICE LETTER WITH A STAR BUCKS GIFT CARD FOR £15. I WILL GIVE THE STORE ANOTHER CHANCE AND ENJOY COFFEE AND LUNCH AS A REWARD FOR MY PREVIOUS UNPLEASANT VIST
Went to Star Bucks yesterday with the £15 gift card and the experience was worse than the first time. Will not be complaining again but will not be returning to this Star Bucks (Chippenham Wilts)0 -
I just complained to Cafe Nero. Not bothered if I get anything out of it, but i'd like a reply. We spent 20 minutes waiting for the key to the toilet whilst one staff member talked to a friend and the other one served, only asking several times did they say someone must have left it somewhere and we should try and unlock the door with a spoon. Also had to wait ages for mugs as they had run out.0

NoI e-mailed a complaint to BT's CEO on Wednesday, my Dad has been trying to order a broadband connection with them since March with no success.
24 hours later...broadband was connected!0 -
NoPfffft BT saga for me, they have failed to reply to anything, I'll be going to OTELLO or whatever it is very soon. It basically took them 1 month to setup my account (My girlfriend was bringing me tea to the phonebox I would be in there for 3 hours straight on the phone) and then another month to remove restrictions on the line so I could get broadband (from another supplier). Wont be using BT again in my life. They are still mischarging me.0

I have just written my first complaint email.
Brought some neutrogena face scrub from boots and after applying to my face my whole face started to burn and go red. After holding a cold flannel on my face for 20 mins the burning eased. I dont have sensitive skin, and have uses products from there range before. may be a faulty batch???
I have written to the company (johnson&johnson) and waiting for a reply.
BUT in the mean time should i take the product back to boots, or hang on in case J&J wont me to return it.0 -
I complain pretty much every time i experience poor customer service, some of my recent examples are below:
HSBC - lost copies of my driving licence and bank statements -£20 compensation
Next - Failed to deliver a £200 suit that i ordered from them - £20 compensation and 20% of my next order
McDondalds - found a hair in my food - 2 x £5 vouchers
Arriva - numberous free bus tickets for buses not turning up, being late etc.
Just some of the outcomes from the complaints which i have made - all consumers should complain everytime they experience poor service - it is the only way that companies will learn and make improvements as if all customers complained it would cost them a fortune in compensation and they would take action before all of their profits disappear!0 -
NoOn a positive i've just sent a letter to london zoo to tell them what an amazing time we had there this week for our sons 1st birthday and what a great job all their staff do. Companies need to know when their services are appreciated too.0

No - but it should be moved to another boardI recently wrote to Gillette complaining about their new Venus Breeze razors. You are not meant to need shaving foam with these razor blades as they have special strips of soap stuff on the blade. After the first time I used it the soap strip fell off so I wrote a complaint letter. I also told them I think razor blades are too expensive. I received a £10 voucher in the post this week. My first ever complaint letter! V pleased!0

I have sent a number of letters to banks and credit card companies lately to reclaim my charges and noticed that on my letter sent to hsbc a signature had not been obtained. It cost me £1.08 to send this letter by recorded delivery so i emailed royal mail stating that when i pay extra for a service i expect them to adhere to it. As it turned out i had infact paid £1.08 to send my letter by normal 1st class post! 24 hours later i get an email from royal mail saying they are sorry and have spoken to the delivery office concerned and by way of compensation they are refunding my postage costs by sending me a book of 6 stamps.
A few years ago i had a bad experience with staples (the stationery store) so i wrote a letter to their head office. After a week i received a letter saying how sorry they were and £15 vouchers to show my custom was valued and appreciated.
