It is definitely ALWAYS worth a try. Kettles should last longer than a year and you obviously know when you bought it.
If you don't have your receipt write (snailmail - always received better than email) to Customer Services at Kenwood (get address off website or any other Kenwood box) stating when you bought it, sorry you don't have a receipt etc, tell them the model and fault. I always start by praising their products first, and with Kenwood there is plenty to praise. Say something like you were surprised to have to complain about their product but you feel really let down by something you thought would last years.
Good luck. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
NoSent a complainted off about a week ago - waiting to hear back
Sent one off today to Argos as been trying for atleast a MONTH to get a veg rack for our kitchen - and they never have it in stock for delivery or store collection at any of the 10 stores nearest to us within resonable distance.

NoHi
Just thought I would post a successful result. Had never ever complained until I read this post
I order £50 of items from Viking Direct and there were three items (all to be delivered in 48 hours)
Well - the first two items were delivered on time, but were left with a neighbour and no card to say that was where they were. So I contacted them to say 3rd item missing and late and that a card through the door would be useful
3rd item turned up the next day and was left on the doorstep
Was really annoyed as to me this could have been stolen but more importantly makes it obvious that the house is empty.
I didn't expect anything off them - just wanted to let a bit of steam off and tell them I wouldn't be using them again as the delivery service was so unacceptable.
A week later I had an email reply stating that they are sorry, have forwarded the issues on to the despatch team and as a gesture of goodwill are refunding me £23. I nearly fell off my chair! Nice to know that they do value their customers : )
thanks for giving me the guts to say when products and services fall short :beer:0 -
NoI've been having awful problems with the attitude of the staff (esp on the customer service desk) at the Tesco Extra Hatfield recently - called thier helpdeak and after 2 weeks ... NOTHING!!!
Am now composing a letter of complaint to see if that gets any response.
Wil update asap0 -

Noi have only ever complained twice, to the same store, asda. one when i went to open a pack of cheese only to find it had gone mouldy as was not sealed correctly, i took it back to the store (did not have receipt though) and they immediately gave me a new block of cheese and my money back on original. i also purchased some wine in the 3 for tenner promo, with an extra bottle, but when i got charged it was for more than it should be, they gave me refund, but for more than the difference as apology, i basically get teh 4th bottle free.
but this thread does give food fro thought, have never thought before to complain about crisps not sealed correctly in multi packs, tea bags that break cos of perforations etc, and these have all happened to me, shall consider the complaitn process in futureThanks to all who post comps :T0 -
Not exactly complained but I wrote to Nivea expressing my disappointment in one of their creams - they sent me a whole buch of samples and some vouchers amounting to £3 off.0

Hy
I had problems getting in touch with the Nationwide Customer Contact team, Special Investigations Dep't regarding a dispute. I had no end of problems but a few carefully worded letters sent to them and their directors soon got the matter resolved and they credited my account with £25 to and these are their words " towards the telephone costs and general inconvenience "
I also gained access to the geographical number to the person you need to speak to should you have to which is not listed on Saynoto0870. She sorted me out in the blink of an eye yet her fellow workers couldn't do so in 3 weeks.
I did start to set up a league table of UK business's response times based on your experiences on a blog of mine but as ever with this site one must not mention anything about blogs etc, it's like the actors who dare not mention the " Scottish play "
...

I said i liked thier corned beef and were they stopping doing the other kind of tims (key tins). I had a nice letter back and they apologised and said they had quite a few complaints. They sent me £3 of vouchers as well and assured me they are changing thier tins.0

I'd have attitude if i was trying to reduce things while people were grabbing things off the shelf... they do it in work, and it is very rude... wait till it is reduced, then take it, not push it in someones face asking questions..0
