Complaint Letter Successes

NoCan I say this thread has been very inspiring, and has made me realise that bad experience should not just be accepted. I have made complaints to places in the past, and also a couple recently.
I complained to Travelodge a while ago following a stay at their London Kings Cross Royal Scot branch. I filled out a comments form which they leave in your room. The room was very shabby and had numerous faults. I have stayed in the same hotel previously and had come to expect better from them, despite only paying £29 for my room. The manager called me to apologise, and then refunded the full cost of the room, which I was very pleased with.
I complained to Tesco following the delivery of an armchair which stated it was fully assembled. It was not, and required some considerable effort to put together. The delivery company also did not take the packaging away, which they are supposed to. I got £10 refunded back onto my card.
I complained to Asda following a disappointing meal with their frozen Extra Special Duck Pancakes (the duck pieces were the size of crumbs rather than shredded, which I had expected!). The product cost £2.99. I sent them an email through the website and then received a very apologetic letter and a £6 gift card.
I sent a complaint to Copella (apple juice) as I bought a bottle from a Tesco store which was incredibly thick and pulpy. I usually love their juice and buy whenever its on offer. I received £5 in vouchers.
On the positive side, I have just sent a letter of compliment to Kettle chips saying how nice I found a new flavour of their crisps.0 -
NoHi
Does anybody know if there is a website for Sheridans coffee chocolate liquer?
Have searched but can't find one. I have the bottle which has a couple of regular addresses on it but would prefer to email them as I have absolutely awful hand writing!0 -

Great thread!
My OH and I recently stayed at an Ibis hotel over Easter weekend. There was also two coachloads of European sports fans booked in, who kept us awake into the early hours every single night with their drunken noise. When we complained, we were told that there was nothing that could be done, as the hotel was full.
I wrote a 'strongly worded' letter expressing my disgust with the situation - particularly as the hotel was promoted as family friendly - and suggested they might like to compensate us for the distress caused, and that they might want to look at giving their staff training to deal with such a situation.
Result? A very apologetic letter and a full refund for all three nights. I am really chuffed

i think that sets a great example, as i put in an earlier post on here, i told wrigleys that i adored their new chewing gum (the black airwaves one and even suggested some other flavours they could try) and they sent me a box of them!!! in a fancy box too, i always make a point of giving good feedback aswell as bad, for example if i see a really good documentary on tv or something, i know it only takes a few minutes to find an email address to let them know what you thought:Dtotally a tog!:D0 -
NoI like to give compliments, although I've never gotten anything from giving them..
I recently complained to McCain about the new potato Gratin tasting dry and lacking flavour, they said they'd send some vouchers - a great turnout, I just wanted to let them know that I was dissapointed as I LOVE gratin!0 -
hello went to a beefeater for their 2 course for £7 before 6.30pm got there at 6pm and was told as we hadnt booked would be 10mins for a table and to wait in bar- decided not to order a drink as planned on having wine with meal. well after 25mins more people had come in and been seated -suppose they could have booked.
nobody came to us at all considering we were sitting ina bar with no drink looks strange.
we walked out at 6.35pm past the original welcoming guy and he didnt say a word, we went elsewhere which was more expensive.
well emailed a complaint 2 days later and it replied saying we will respond in 14days, well 14days later no response so rang them - was told it takes upto 28days,
another 2wks later rang again and she was mortified the area manager hadnt contacted me so would get staright onto him.
another week i ring again diff lady and she says not alot they can do if i had written in she could deal with it but as emailed only manager can, but she said she would ring him.
well another week later get an apology and an offer of £10 of our next meal if we book direct with the manager
lot of effort for £10 off our next meal0 -
We went to pizza express the other week for my nephews birthday. There were 8 of us but my baby wasn't eating so when we got the bill we were superised that the 10% service charge had been put on.The service was terriable and they didnt bring the free drinks that were supposed to come with the kids meals and left all the dirty plates on the table.I emailed them and they are sending a check for £15 which was the service charge plus £40 in vouchers.0

NoHi, now please don't laugh...like everyone else has!!
I complained to Next recently regarding a pair of boots that I bought in the sale, i bought 2, (in different colours...) And I got my foot stuck in one of them......IT WAS NOT FUN!! I had a panic attack! I couldn't get my blooming foot out...it was awful.
My little girl was asking me if I was ok!!!!
Anyhew they told me to send them all back, which I did, and they refunded me the cost of them, even though they were weeks old. I NEVER WENT NEAR THEM AGAIN.....but thats it, should I ask for more?? All the operators I spoke with just laughed at me...Probably like you : )
Am I being EXTRA???
What do you guys think?0 -
NoI can't believe the operators laughed at you- thats really bad customer service! I'd have wanted a refund on the boots, compensation for the upset getting your foot stuck caused and an apology for their customer services staff laughing.
I think it depends though on how long ago this happened.0
