Complained about a bad netto loaf, it tasted of detergent, they have send a postage paid envelope for a sample for analysis, plus took the loaf into store and got another one (they did not want the minging one)

Complained to Sainsburys about a plasticy tasting Lemon Posset ( we got them for 10p, but that is not the point)

Suppose I have to balance it but complimenting someone now!

I complained to Cadbury about a creme egg easter egg which didn't have any creme eggs in it! Got a £2 voucher in the post this morning.

It will help heal the trauma of an incomplete easter egg!

complained to SMA as the formula i bought didnt have the scoop in it. they got back to me in a couple of days with a really apologetic letter and they said they are sending me another tin of formula for free!!

    You just reminded me...

One of my friends got some formula from the Co-op once, when she got home she found it was several months out of date so she rang the revlevant gov department that deals with shops selling out of date food, they looked into it and told her it was fine to give the baby out of date formula and that the Co-op were within their rights to have sold it. Needless to say she didnt follow their advice. She wasnt really one for complaining, but just thought she was being helpful by reporting the Co-op.

  • I can be a bit of a complainer if I feel something isn't fair, or service isn't as I would expect. The following are a few examples:
TESCO - I have written to Tescos complaining that the advertising of a particular item was wrongly positioned and therefore misleading. I enclosed my receipt and within a week I received a letter with a £10 gift card.
SAINSBURYS - I wrote and complained that a carton of orange juice was placed on its side in my fridge and leaked everywhere whilst still unopened. I received a letter of apology and a £20 voucher.
LOCAL RESTAURANT - A local carvery type resturant had a special deal if you ordered before a certain time (similar to Harvester) I arrived in plenty of time with about 30 mins to spare (kept a bar receipt to help prove this) and due to a severe lack of staff and the incompetance of the staff that were there our order was taken 10 mins outside of the offer time. I tried to sort things out at the time, but had no luck. I wrote the the restaurant and received a letter offering a complementary meal at any time.

E-mailed Waitrose as the birthday cake for my daughter's 21st had the writing done in the same colour as the icing, hence it wasn't easy to read and I felt it should have been done in a contrasting colour. Got a £10 John Lewis voucher.

E-mailed Yeo Valley because their plum flavoured yoghurt tasted just like black cherry and got a £4 postal order. They didn't concede that the plum tasted like black cherry though!

Heinz Fruity Custards pack of 4, one of them is almost empty (not opened!)

Something like that is best just returned to store at your next visit. Not much Heinz can do about it and at least the supermarket can give you another pack.

Of course, if their customer services are unhelpful, as sometimes happens, then you can mail the empty packaging (cleaned) showing batch numbers, to the address on the pack, and will invariably receive vouchers or goods. Covering letter need only be a couple of lines with your address, really.
