Complaint Letter Successes

NoThis is a great thread. It's encouraged me to actually bother to complain about things because I can see that others have successes.
My last complaint was to Tesco, some time ago, and they ignored it so totally that I guess I figured everywhere was the same. It's good to see some companies take their customers more seriously!0 -
NoBayliss and Harding still never answered my complaint weeks ago about my Kelly Brook perfume bottle leaking to empty through the atomiser the 1st day I had it.
Terrible company
I agree, this thread is great. I still never have any success when complaining but i like to see others do0 -

In my student house last year I enquired about getting NTL broadband installed - they sent a guy round who told me they needed to drill through the wall (which no one had told me when I had enquired) so, it being a student house, I said I can't damage the walls. He then gave me a consent form for my landlord (incase I changed my mind) and told me that unless I contacted them they would assume I didn't want it.
I never contacted them, 2 months later they started taking money out of my bank account. So then I had to call them (from a mobile as no house phone) on numerous occasions to get my money back, and was told they cancelled my account. (Given I'd never had it installed I don't know how I had an account)
Skip forward a year, I go back to my old house to pick up my post, and I've got 5+ letters from the debt collectors asking for the £150 odd I 'owe' NTL, for broadband they never installed!!!! The last letter said that I had to pay by X day, which happened to be the next day after I picked up the letters.
I panicked, called the debt company, they were useless, so called NTL. Spoke to a nice lady who ASSURED me that my account would be closed, I would have no further problems.
So, after wasting endless amounts of time and money calling NTL to cancel a service I'd never even had installed, I felt I should write to them to complain.
Skip forward a few weeks and I get a call from some sort of manager at head office, calling to apologise and inform me that he's closing my account. Funny given I'd been told that sooooo many times previously!
So that was that. NTL = suck0 -

Heinz - Complained about tin of tomato soup that really was awfull (actually the 2nd bad one I'd had in the space of 4 weeks). Looked like the tin had reacted with the soup as there were strange grey patches inside - not like the normal shiny inside. Excellent response from Heinz, they replied with 48 hrs with a £3 off vouchers (applies to any store and any groceries as long as it includes 1 Heinz product).
Ramada Jarvis - Horrible stay at the Glasgow Airport Hotel. Poor service, delays at check-in. No table available in restaurant. Very poor quality food at breakfast etc. Just replied with letter saying they were busy at the time we stayed and breakfast was "too spec". So won't be staying with them again.0
