had various successes...dont bother much now, but Cross Country rail are my next target for a service so bad i cant even think of a non-rude word to describe it

    SOUTH WEST TRAINS
about 4 years ago south west trains - earley, nr Reading to Waterloo to get connecting disneyland paris train - train late about 2 hours - tickets were about £30 for both standard class tickets - went to the ombudsman who faciliated the agreement between me and SWT -CS manager smuggly thought he'd won......ombudsman guy off the record though he was an A hole, but laughed at what i did...i outsmarted him - 2 first class tickets from Basingstoke to Torquay (i paid for the train from Reading to basingstoke) - tickets were approx £360 for both! Took 4 months to get them though

    ROYAL MAIL
made alot of complaints to Royal Mail, majority have been successes - but then if their service is so appalling why should i suffer

    CROSS COUNTRY RAIL
Just about to send a rocket to the chairman of CCR re: his company's incrediably appalling 'service' between Reading and Coventry/Birmingham - the Reading -Coventry service is so bad i now prefer to drive the 200 miles roundtrip.....always standing room only, aircon often failing, always late (almost 1 hour for Coventry), customers thrown off the train at earlier stops (to avoid paying bigger penalties i reckon) not only that these imbeciles have the cheek to INCREASE the price of this 'service' by £5 to £67 return (i can DRIVE myself for mush less!!)

in fact once the Reading to Coventry service was running 1hr 10mins late (its only a 1 hr 20 min service!!) then threw everyone who wanted to get off at Reading off the train at Banbury - they have said they wont refund me....oh they will trust me (same start as the SWT fiasco)

By far the most useless company I've ever complained to was NTL, has anyone ever had a successful complaint to them?
In my student house last year I enquired about getting NTL broadband installed - they sent a guy round who told me they needed to drill through the wall (which no one had told me when I had enquired) so, it being a student house, I said I can't damage the walls. He then gave me a consent form for my landlord (incase I changed my mind) and told me that unless I contacted them they would assume I didn't want it.
I never contacted them, 2 months later they started taking money out of my bank account. So then I had to call them (from a mobile as no house phone) on numerous occasions to get my money back, and was told they cancelled my account. (Given I'd never had it installed I don't know how I had an account)
Skip forward a year, I go back to my old house to pick up my post, and I've got 5+ letters from the debt collectors asking for the £150 odd I 'owe' NTL, for broadband they never installed!!!! The last letter said that I had to pay by X day, which happened to be the next day after I picked up the letters.
I panicked, called the debt company, they were useless, so called NTL. Spoke to a nice lady who ASSURED me that my account would be closed, I would have no further problems.
So, after wasting endless amounts of time and money calling NTL to cancel a service I'd never even had installed, I felt I should write to them to complain.
Skip forward a few weeks and I get a call from some sort of manager at head office, calling to apologise and inform me that he's closing my account. Funny given I'd been told that sooooo many times previously!
So that was that. NTL = suck

i did last year - they, and now virginmedia ended up paying me so much in compo due to overcharges and poor service that I had their top BB package for almost free last year......received 3 months free follwing house move where my supposed 10mb, then 20mb service was no faster than 500kbs, in fact sometimes dialup speed!! Then they overcharged me for 6 months (every month i phoned them, theyd sort it, then give me compo)...received about £200 in refunds and top BB service for free for 6 months! now im paying £40/mth for XL phone/BB/TV for a good service so no complaints now!

the things i still hate with VM are:
1)paying for service failures that are their fault
    2) phoning the script monkeys (nb. not racist!) in india to resolve faults they clearly dont have the skills to do (nb. i am a freelance it/Telco consultant) - any company that just offshores their CS capability, clearly doesnt give a stuff about their customers......when i get someone from india, i ring off and dial again...till i get someone in the uk

Had a successful two days of complaining.
Had awful time at Cafe Rouge for Mothers Day, bad service, horrible food that instantly made me feel ill, no loo roll in the toilets, complained to the manager and they knocked 25% off the bill (£40). Still, It'll be a while before I go back since I've only just stopped running for the loo.
Wrote a comment to Quorn about some mangled fillets I'd bought and they were very nice and sent me a nice letter and £5 vouchers. Result! Thanks quorn.

I complained to Minky twice by email, these were both read, but not passed on to the relevant people to call me back and I never heard anything.

I phoned on Monday - twice - and I received a new product today & it's an upgrade to the one I'd complained about! Only a compliments slip inside, but at least a replacement - result!

I found an industrial sewing needle in my babys new pyjamas. I emailed adams who replied immediately. I sent the needle to them so their safety control team could inspect it and was delighted to receive a letter of apology and £75 in compensation in less than a 2 week time period.:T It pays to complain but my biggest issue was 1 of safety for my daughter and not wanting it to happen again. Adams were very lucky it did not cause an injury and can now improve their quality and safety control.

Hm I tried to read through the whole of 91 pages but gave up after 7!

I worked in Dominos Pizza for a year and half and the amount of people that would complain was unbelieavble. People would even like and say 'my pizza has taken 45minutes, you said 40minutes' when it had only been 30!

Some people are rediculus saying their pizza's cold etc. when it isn't.

We often would get the customer to bring it back, send another pizza etc. but from then on we wouldn't be nice and offer deals to them etc. (if a person was nice and what they wanted they could get cheaper, we would do it, otherwise leave it).

And as I was a legend in my store I could give out free things to people who I thought deserved them.

Anyone that did have a genuine reason to complain though I would give them their pizzas for free. So be honest. And be nice.

i was bought a very expensive radley bag for christmas. I have used on maybe 4 occasions & have always stored it in the dust bag & took care of it. the leather is coming away on the corner. i emailed radley & they said i should return it to the store however i live in durham & it was bought from cheshire. They then said to return it to them so they can investiagte. I'm a bit reluctant to send it to them any advice??
