Complaint Letter Successes

NoI found this thread a few weeks ago and decided that next time I had a problem worth complaining about, I would! Usually I just put up & shut up.
Then a I went to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen with 7 friends, and there was a queue so we asked if we could sit at the first table that became available, but it was really meant for 6 people. We persuaded the waiter, but when we went to the counter to order & pay, the duty manager on the till was so rude to us and then berated the waiter in front of us even though we said it was our fault. We were made to feel like naughty children not paying customers! I wrote to head office and today received a nice letter back saying that the area manager had spoken to the rude guy and he admitted her behaved badly & was sorry. I was also sent £50 of vouchers! Great customer service.Quidco - £33.95, Pigsback £7.79 (£20 claimed)
Holiday fund £50 :eek:0 -
NoI complained to John Freida a week or so ago, and they sent me a jiffy bag of products. Good customer service.0

Nowell reading this board has inspired me to complain when something goes wrong. so far...
Innocent Smoothies- Tasted very peculiar, a bit like a big piece of metal had been blended in with the fruit, in 3 x 1.5l cartons - apology/explanation email and they are sending me vouchers
Boots- Bought some estee lauder foundation, got it home, clearly not used but only half full - very rude member of staff accused me of pouring half contents of bottle into another container and then taking the other half back and told me where to go! 2500 points on my advantage card
Argos-Bought big storage unit, loads of pieces were broken, CS very rude - £10 voucher
all in all, very pleased!
Thank you all!Wins since June: iPod shuffle 1gb, Samsung g800, cinema ticket, lush retro giftbox, 2x mp3 downloads, a big box of food (???)0 -

No - but it should be moved to another boardI used the contact us bit to contact them last week and had to abbreviate. Anyway they replied today and the email address is: consumerresponse@cokecce.com or phone 08003890050.
Complained to Quaker oats a few weeks ago about a box which contained sachets which weren't sealed properly (what a mess!). They sent me 2 x £2 coupons. Plus I had a duplicate letter from them today and another £4 in coupons.
Complained to Boots about a faulty mouse I bought there, returned then found the second one had the same fault. Just had a naff email saying they have high quality control etc.0 -
NoA couple of years ago I bought a huge glass coffee table and matching side tables for £500 from John Peters clearence shop. I had the table at home for a while and was always very careful with it when cleaning etc, it never had anything on it other than cups of tea and coffee but one morning a delivery lorry was parked outside our terraced house with the engine running and the whole house was vibrating, the next thing we heard was an almighty explosion. It sounded as though the windows had gone through, I was heavily pregnant at the time and my God it nearly sent me into an early labour!! Anyway we went cautiously down the stairs and into our living room and the table was in a trillion pieces, the glass, some of it lethally sharp was embedded in our new leather sofas, the walls and even the fireplace, there was so much in our new tufted wool rug we had to throw it away! I was distraught, our little dog used to sleep under the table - what if he'd have been under there? What if i'd had my baby and she had been injured? What if we'd have been in there?
Anyway, we took lots of pictures and went to John Peters and they basically implied that we'd done it ourselves and told us it was safety glass even though my hubby took in a sample of the shards of glass! They did nothing about it and continued to sell the product. I contacted Trading Standards and they said that because it was a glass product it was impossible to prove that we hadn't damaged it!
I really want people to know that if you value your and your families safety dont by a glass table (complete curved glass tables with glass legs), someone could have been killed that day.
I would love to know what any of you lovely people would have done in the circumstances -how far would you have taken it?
P.s. Tried to find John Peters Head Office address to no avail, also the link to contact us on their website has mysteriously dissapeared!!You cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280 -
No - but it should be moved to another boardHow awful HMS79, just be thankful no-one was hurt.
Personally I would have pursued it as far as possible, especially since there was damage to your rug due to the defective table.
Yes, it seems the contact link is dead (have tried URLs ..../contact, /contactus etc to no avail). The T&Cs on their website aren't aware of this though!11.1 If you have a complaint or a particular remark to make please do not hesitate to contact us immediately by facsimile, telephone or e-mail, the details of which are contained under the "Contact Us" page.
It appears that they JPF into administration in May 2007 and were bought by Business Dreams Ltd. Here's their address:
John Peters is a trading name of Business Dream Limited, Company No. 06248566.
Registered Address:
Business Dream
2nd Floor Princes House
Roundhay Road
Oakwood
Leeds
West Yorkshire
If you are going to contact them again, I don't know how far you'd get since it wasn't business dreams who were responsible for the sale two years ago. But then again, you've got nothing to lose by doing so!

NoI sent an email to Lil-Lets after finding the picture on the back of the box was backwards and implied they were worse than other makes! Didn't expect anything from them, just wanted to let them know. This morning I got a lovely letter saying sorry if I was concerned and that they would be recalling the packs. Oh and 2 x £3 vouchers. Very impressed!Nobody I'd rather be0
