Recently sent a letter of complaint to John Lewis Direct as they took 3 days to deliver a next working day order. I've just had a phone call to say they're crediting the account used to place the order with £100 AND they're sending £100 in gift vouchers by way of apology. :T

They're also going to bring it up in the directors meeting next week, so here's hoping they'll no longer be using City Link as a courier.

Just been waiting all day for engineer to arrive:
Bought a Ebac dehumidifier 2 years ago and took out an extended warranty with John Lewis.
Been repaired twice already but has always been picked up and dropped off within a week. but now has an engineer come out.
Man turned up today to repair it again ( i knew the pci unit had gone same as the last 2 repairs.)
Came at 3.45 left 3.48 and doesn't repair dehumidifiers!!

so have to wait a week for John lewis warranty people to decide what to do.

Will be phoning the in a minute as been waiting since 8am ! for a 5 min visit.

  • Just sent a massive complaint to Next, when i told them last week my order hadn't arrived, they sent out a letter for me to sign and send back and then i would get a refund. The letter only had 3 of the 5 items ive paid for. Come on, im not going to say to them to keep payment for 2 items as a goodwill gesture am i? It seems they are quite happy to take your order and money, but have a problem and the cs goes down the drain. First and last time im ever buying anything from them.

Also, would anyone expect to not recieve any post because their postman was on holiday for 2 weeks? So why is it ok for Next to do it then? I finally recieved my order yesterday 2 weeks after being dispatched, but the courier had been on holiday, told his employers well in advance, who decided that nobody in my area would recieve any parcels whilst he was away despite there being other couriers who could have covered for him. Now the poor guy has to deliver 2 weeks of parcels alongside all the usual deliveries, plus getting all the blame for the delay(he came home to an answering machine full of angry messages from Next, Freemans, etc), i'd be looking for a new job if it was me. I told him to complain to Next, etc and tell them his employer is to blame.

I got £25 of vouchers for complaining about a store sa a couple of years ago, but not holding my breath this time. Probably just get an apology and told it wont happen again. God help any customers if their courier takes a holiday or sick leave. Especially if you pay for next day delivery.

City Link have just delivered me a parcel, after ringing the door and not giving me time to answer he was slamming the letterbox, I got to the door and the parcel was on the doorstep, driver nowhere in view, he was hovering around the other side of his van having a sneaky fag, he then says 'oh it says to leave in a safe place'. I take it he considers the doorstep to be a safe place. Fool.

Hey, you're lucky! I had a courier leave a parcel in my recycling bin, which was half full of water from the rain the night before. When I was lucky enough to find it, it was completely destroyed - soaked through. W*****

I emailed Rombouts after getting an underfilled individual filter coffee - sent them the batch number, etc - and received an apologetic letter and two vouchers for a free pack.

I've also emailed Lush before when they made one of their bath bombs smaller but kept it at the same price (and had the wrong weight in the catalogue and in store) and I got a really nice apologetic email back, asking me for my address and they sent me a box with lots of new products that weren't actually in the shop yet.

I emailed John Lewis to complain after we had our wedding list there and all their post-wedding correspondence addressed me as Mrs "Maiden Name" rather than by my married name. I know this is a small thing, but when you've just got married, it's the kind of thing that matters.

Anyway, thought I'd get an apology email so was thrilled when I received a lovely letter and £25 in JL vouchers. Now that is very good customer service.

I complained to PC World, tech guys and the group who owns pc world - their name escapes me about a terrible situation where they promised me the return of my hard drive and then skipped it and the CS that followed including being laughed at by a store manager... I sent the same 9 page letter to all three (trust me it was a very long story and a lot of bad customer service). I asked for a letter back wanting an explanation why this was allowed to happen.

I got a £50 cheque in the post today BUT no letter, no nothing even mentioning why which im really annoyed about. I wanted them to at least apologise so I am going to contact them again. I spent days and days on this and they could have at least sent a letter :(
