i bought my dad a dvd player with built in HD drive from micro direct for xmas. he opened it on xmas day and it had a huge dent in the top of it and it was missing the remote. when i took it back, some spooty goon tried to fob me off saying that because i didn't open it up and check it within 48 hours, i have to deal with it. i wasn't aware micro direct was exempt from trading standards!

anyway, after an hour having it out with the manager, i managed in the end to get them to get a new one WITH remote and no dents.

an angry letter has gone to micro direct and also they've been reported to trading standards.

    slags.

No - but it should be moved to another board
    .

Complained to Asda about some fresh pasta that was within it's use by date but was mouldy. They didn't bother to reply.

I've made many a complaint to supermarkets, but they just seem to get ignored. Any advice?

I'm sure there are loads more as I'm such a moaner!

did you call asda they have a customer care number on their products otherwise send a copy of your letter to the enviremntal health section at the local council and also to the food standards agency stating that the supermarket concerned have not addressed your concerns so you feel that it should be reported.

I'm not really going to send this on to British Gas, more infact to simply vent my frustration... and ask if anyone else has had problems with British Gas.

The problem started about 2/3 weeks ago, the pilot flame (thing) in my boiler keeps going out and there is no ignite button on my system, the online manual says to turn it all off in a partticular order and turn it all back on...which I've done and 3/8 times it comes back on.

As well as this when the flame doesn't ignire the lights on the boiler ssystem flash in different ways to help you identifythe problem, well lets just say on Monday 2 green lights are flashing, on wednesday 3 green lights and 1 red is flashing, and on friday everything is flashing.

In which case its impossible for me to see what the problem is because it's telling me something different everytime.

Anyway... I live in an apartmentt block and one of the other residents has put a notice up on the board saying that they had had problems with their gas, they were then informed that the wrong piping had been used tand there was traces of carbon monoxide in this persons flat.

Now as far as I'm aware these apartments were all built to the same standard which would include the same plumbing etc....

So... I call British Gas, explain to them that the boiler isn't working correctly and about the other residents problem and I'm told by the guy on the end of the phone "Well I don't see how the other persons gas problem has anything to do with you ?" ... A little taken aback I explained about tehm being built the same etc, and he said right ok but in a kind of "'I'd rather be playing solitaire' manner.

So I explained again about the C. Monoxide pronlem etc, and he asked if I could smell anything....now correct me if I'm wrong but do they not send out adverts constantly about the dangers because its an ODOURLESS GAS<
    so again I ssaid....No!
He then asked if I was feeling dizzy (a fair question I'll give him that)

Then he told me I had no boiler, so I said well I've no idea about this stuff but whatever that white box is in my cupboard its not working!

Anyway eventually he sent someone out, who has now turned my gas off...that's fine (ish)

I called British Gas again this morning to get someone out to fix the problem and get me some heating on, and I'm greeted with yet another rude customer service rep who for some reason didn't believe meabout having someone out from British Gas to check it last night.

Telling me there was no record, who was it? I said I called British Gas so whoever you send out...and this was going on for a good 10min, after that I just turned around and said does it really matter who came out??? The fact is I have no gas because one of your service men has turned it off and I need to book for someone to come out and check it.

So she goes, hmm well it'll be £190 <-- said in the most dull, I hate my job tone !

Anyway I basically told her to get stuffed in a polite manner of course.

So as far as I'm aware in order to get any service from British Gas you must first wait until your gas problem is so bad it fills your entire home with a nice smell and then leaves you sick and dreary, until that point you should continue to live with the over shadow that you may have a gas problem.

    Is it just me ?

Update on my complaint to M&S- they've now told me that £41 of my £53 is now unavailable and have denied taking the £53 at all (despite the fact it's showing on my bank statement and my bank have even given me the auth code for the transaction.

Following three phone calls to M&S they have said they will refund the £53 (and take the £12 from me separately) and have also given me £15 store credit as an apology. Good resolution but a bit of a pain to get there!!!

Update on the MacDonalds offer......BOGOFF BigMac

I emailed a complaint to them, stating how unfair they were, on the basis that my daughter is a veggy, and probably eats in their restaurants at least once a week, telling them they were being totally unfair to her with their current offer.
They replied, after about a week and a half, telling me that all their participating stores have been instructed to substitute the BigMac offer with a vegeterian option if the customer asks.....

Fair enough, but shame that they couldnt just print some vouchers out to that effect....

Complained to Jacobs about the taste of Twiglets. Didn’t keep the receipt and the packaging was too bulky to send cheaply through the post, so just quoted the batch number.

Received £3 voucher today. Think they only cost £1 or so.

also, recently i complained to boots about a snobby b**** insisting that my mum had stolen goods when the alarms went off, even though my mum showed her her receipts:eek: - boots were great, they sent me a £50 voucher and apologised so many times.

Last year in the sale I ordered lots of stuff from there and after it not arriving for ages I phoned them up. She said most of it was out of stock so she refunded the stuff that was out back to my card. She also said she would give me £10 credit to spend there, however I do not have an account with them so I don't know how I was supposed to get this!
