NoThey are not obliged whatsoever to sell you any items at the price displayed. They are well within their rights, no matter how unfair it may seem, to charge you whatever they want at the checkout.
That said, most stores will agree to sell it at the price displayed, but you may have to pay the higher price before you can complain to get it at the advertised price.
Peter.
hi i had the same problem with new look before, personally i think the SA wanted the top for herlself at that price and no i didn't recieve anything back0 -
NoComplained to clearasil after i had used one of their products, and it ended up burning my face and making it sore red and itchy.
Got a letter back after around 5 days, apologising, and with a complaint form attached which i needed to fill in for them to investigate further.
Filled in the form and sent it away, waited a couple of weeks (was christmas aswell so will have slowed it down) and then i got another letter back from them, explaining what may have happened, their safety procedures etc, and a cheque with it.

NoI sent my laptop back to fujitsu in August and they had it for a month whilst finding the the fan was fitted upside down and had damaged the motherboard. Other things were wrong with it such as a screw being loose inside and rolling around and the item given electric shocks as well as the power thing having to be gently turned to make it work on occasion and connect to the mains.
During the time it was away the majority of people that we spoke to were very brisk and didn't have the time - particularly one lady who was insulting at best and when we complained we were brushed aside. We were repeatedly lied to being told that it would only be a week at first, then a part was in - wasn't in - had been in since the Tuesday (when I rang on the friday) and then wasn't in again (the same part!) so they could keep hold of it longer.
My powercable started to give electric shocks on Boxing Day and on closer inspection it became obvious that the casing had broken and silver wires were poked through. I was told at the time of the laptops return that the faults/repairs had an extra 90 day warranty so all should be well. When I explained the situation they said they had no listing of the electric shocks or the screw rolling inside and basically made me out to be a liar, even though i'd had numerous calls and mentioned it repeatedly so it was checked - I was fobbed off by 2 different technicians so asked for a contact address and fax number of someone in higher authority then faxed (and posted) 5 pages of their own literature and a copy of the covering letter I'd sent in august listing all the faults coupled with a 2 page letter/complaint to a 'Sue Young' on Wednesday and I'm waiting to hear back now.
Knowing my luck nothing will come of it but I begrude being insulted, lied to and fobbed off when I know things were reported. I'll keep on fighting my corner till something is done as I haven't been happy with Fujitsu Siemens for over 6 months.0 -
trust me,...fujitsu's service is not quite as appalling as the one provided by toshiba.
the laptop had to be fixed for countless times and 50% of the time the machine is still unable to function. one time it came back without a hard drive and when i called up, cs basically told me that i stole the hard drive and that they do not replaced the parts that are 'missing' if the loss was discovered after the laptop had left the repair centre....
another time, it stayed in the repair centre for 4 weeks, because they were unable to get parts for an 'asian' model of the computer. only heaven knows what that means.
the many times i called up, i was lied to, insulted and brushed off abruptly. one time i called up after the laptop went in for service, and a guy told me that i will get my laptop on the following monday. come thursday and still no laptop in sight. fuming, i wrote a complaint to them via email. surprise, surprise, the person who handled the complaint was the guy i am complaining about..and he basically had a go at me. QUOTE: i dont understand why you are unhappy and feel disappointed. i am just doing my job and the laptop will be with you when it gets to you: .......
only once did i get a polite and satisfactory service from the toshiba centre. all other times were just awful.0 -
I had some Doves Organic bread flour that I had bought about a month ago. I went to use it to find it had some tiny bugs crawling around in it.
I emailed them all I got was an apology and how they are inspected regularly for such things.
She asked for my address to post a leaflet to. I expected some kind of voucher as well to be honest, but no!
I won't be buying this brand again!0 -
Noi sent my canon camera to their service centre as it jammed , just two weeks after warranty, this was four months ago, i have made repeated contact and told initially they would fix it free of charge they now expect me to pay £80 to have it fixed because it has sand in it:mad:
this is a balantant lie as we have neve taken the camera anywhere near sand, i am so angry because now if i want it returned they still want me to pay £15:mad: what can i do0 -
