Wow, some of have had some amazing results and some of you have been treated very badly.

I have written to Lush to say that an eye cream made my eyes puffy and spotty which it did, only wanted to let them know in case they needed to check it but recieved a small box of freebies for my trouble. Was very shocked but very pleased.

Also wrote to comfort to say that their fabric conditioner always makes my clothes smell nice for ages - £4 vouchers for the trouble.

Also wagg sent me free dog treats for writing to tell them that my dog has looked far healthier since eating their food - result - one happy dog!

I dont write to any old company for freebies but if its a product I like and use and is impressed with then I will let them know.
I emailed a hair company the other day to say how my hair always looks fab thanks to their products, didnt get freebies but an email back saying how I cheered up their office with my lovely email, that was thanks enough for me!

Update on my complaint to M&S- they've now told me that £41 of my £53 is now unavailable and have denied taking the £53 at all (despite the fact it's showing on my bank statement and my bank have even given me the auth code for the transaction.

Following three phone calls to M&S they have said they will refund the £53 (and take the £12 from me separately) and have also given me £15 store credit as an apology. Good resolution but a bit of a pain to get there!!!

M&S are a COMPLETE AND UTTER SHAMBLES. What happened to the M&S of old, where the customer was always right. I like their rebranding and new image but their attitude STINKS!

I wrote a complaint about an online order, initially in August 2007, and having had no reply followed it up in October, still not a peep out of them, not even an acknowlegdement.

muller are excellent, i complained a few months back regarding some mouldy yoghurt that surprisingly wasnt past its sell by date. i got a case of yoghurts and vouchers- great!

also, recently i complained to boots about a snobby b**** insisting that my mum had stolen goods when the alarms went off, even though my mum showed her her receipts:eek: - boots were great, they sent me a £50 voucher and apologised so many times.

    roll on complaint letter successes!:D

Your mum must shop at the same branch as me:beer:, same thing happened to me ages ago (a sa trying to tell me i had stolen £150 worth of stuff to have got x amount of Boots points on my receipt even though i had used a extra points voucher) and i got a £25 voucher!:j

Last year in the sale I ordered lots of stuff from there and after it not arriving for ages I phoned them up. She said most of it was out of stock so she refunded the stuff that was out back to my card. She also said she would give me £10 credit to spend there, however I do not have an account with them so I don't know how I was supposed to get this!

I placed an order on Christmas day for about 130 pounds. All but about 20 pounds has just been sent out to me. They came up with lots of excuses. I think basically - they take the orders, then dependant on when your order gets passed for picking means you might be unlucky.

I think it is a terrible way for marks and spencers to work and I did go fairly vocal to get this compensation. This an email copy of letter, I am still waiting for the actual one and comp to come in the post.

I explained that what is even £100 pounds compensation, it would not buy me 10 underwear sets, 4 coats, 2 purses and 2 lots of nightware!:

    Dear *******,

I am sorry that alot of the sale items you ordered have had to be cancelled due to a lack of stock.

This is due to exceptionally high demand during the sale period.

This was not up to our usual standard of service and we are certainly looking into it. Whenever there is a problem like this, we are always committed to putting it right and preventing it from happening again. As a gesture of my concern, I hope that you will accept the enclosed £100 gift card, which comes with our apologies.

    Yours sincerely,

Lol, should have asked if they give points out when you steal things now then as that would be a really clever till that could tell your card number and what things were missing and what points to award.;)
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

Can you give me the address/email address where you directed your complaint?

    Thanks

    Thanks

I just telephoned the customer service department and pressed the number for internet orders.

I asked to speak to a supervisor, it didn't take much to be honest, just a quick - angry but polite outburst about them letting me miss the sales and wasting my christmas day. I made them email me a copy of the letter whilst I was on the telephone to them because I don't trust them after this incident. Hope that helps.

Also be careful because in the terms and conditions they only agree to the sale when the goods are despatched. You need to be ready for this loophole if mentioned, they do not want to hear loss of trust in their company and is this how the modern day m&s treat the customers.

Good point: They can offer you the total amount of your order in vouchers.
