For years I have put up with bad service, or bad products... bit of a doormat I am afraid.

    But no more!

My washing machine was out of action for a fortnight, so when it was repaired, you can imagine I had about 14 loads of washing to do! I have to use non-bio because of allergies, and had run out, so popped to the local shop to buy some, they only had their own-brand, cheap and cheerful.. so i bought it. It was awful stuff, the powder did not dissolve and all the washing had little white bits on it. I emailed a complaint and within a week I received a £5 gift voucher in the post.
I complained to Cadburys about some chocolate that I bought that was covered in white bits, they sent me £3 voucher.
I am waiting to hear back from Pizza hut, about their buffet lunches, my daughter is a vegeterian and throughout the lunch they did not provide enough pizzas to feed everyone and she only managed to get one slice of meat free pizza.....
AND.. MacDonalds served her a chicken burger the other day, which she unwrapped and started to eat! she took it back and the lad serving her just swapped it for the burger she had ordered, no apology or explanation! It looks like we are going to have to write to them as there does not appear to be an email contact for them.
Don't put up with faulty products, our money is hard earned and we should expect to get decent products/service.

Does anyone have any experience of complaining to the DSA about their driving test? I haven't heard anything back after I sent them a letter.

During my practical test the examiner told me I had driven at 30mph in a 20mph zone, but the signs were not yet erected so the speed limit was still 30mph.

I failed my driving test on one thing ..... i was only doing 28mph in a 30mph zone.
The excuse i got was i was holding the traffic up.
I have the failure sheet to prove it lol.:rotfl:

I wrote a letter to Wilkinson's Head Office to complain about poor service I had received while trying to order a Nintendo DS for my daughter. About a week later I received a letter of apology & £20 vouchers.

I ordered it online to collect instore, showing as in stock on Nov 13th. They debited my bank account on 15th, however, unknown to me at the time, the same day tried only once to phone me to say it was no longer in stock. Strange to take the money for something they didn't have?!
I waited 2 weeks and hadn't heard from them to say it was available to collect, so emailed them, week later, no reply, so rang them up, eventually spoke to someone, who explained it wasn't instock & they had tried to call me, did I wan't a refund? Of course I wanted a refund, they'd had my money for over 3 weeks!

I once complained to McDonalds head office about poor service. 6 of us went one lunchtime, 5 of us were given our meals, my OH's was going to be brought to us as they didn't have what he ordered ready. A guy then came in with a huge party order, 2 big boxes full of food. He was served, we had all eaten our food & OH still waiting for his meal. I complained about the wait, and they had given OH's burger to the party order guy!, so could we wait while they cooked another! I explained to the manager that the rest of us had all finished eating & this wasn't really good enough service. He said sorry, but we are cooking the meal now! Nothing else they could do. So I asked him for Head Office address. They sent a letter of apology a couple of weeks later & £20 vouchers.

I don't complain very often, but if service is really bad I do... much to OH's embarrasment!

I once complained to Thorntons about how they took off the Mis-shapes range without informing their loyal customers, and they gave me a £3.00 voucher as a gesture of goodwill. I was almost tempted to write them a thank you letter in return because I wasn't expecting anything. I decided against it, because most companies only do those kinds of things to shut you up and get rid of you, right?
  • i complained for the first time ever to sainsburys by email to customer services re: state of their toilets in my local branch and they sent a very nice email with apology and they credited my account with £10 of nectar vouchers.

Didn't expect a thing - so quite pleased.
