My sister had 5 boxes of Shrek Christmas Crackers because she complained that the toy she won in one was a Simpsons toy not a Shrek toy (it was Bart Simpson instead of Donkey.. she was seriously not happy.. and over 20 at the time!!)
There's probably more, but i can't remember what!
I'm complaining to Next soon as the jeans I bought last month have begun to come unstitched...
OOh I used to work for Next if you complain stright to head office they should send you vouchers!0 -
I once 'complained' to Häagen-Dazs.
I bought a tub of Belgian Chocolate ice cream on one of those 'I need indulgent chocolate ice cream NOW days' only to find out that it had been seriously crystalised and had lost it's flavour.
I was really inspired at that moment. Went to their website, hit contact us and told them what happened and where I purchased the tub. Told them also that i really enjoy going to their Leicester Square restaurant, but that I would most likely not buy their ice cream tubs in supermarkets anymore. I told them that at nearly £4 a tub it is wasted money if I get crystalised ice cream that tastes like frozen water with a bit of cheap choc sauce drizzled over it.
A few days later I got a personalised letter saying that they were really sorry to hear what happened and that unfortunately they cannot monitor what happens to their ice cream once it arrives at its destination. But they would contact the store to see what had happened. And to restore my faith in their tubs they enclosed 2 vouchers for a free tub of Häagen-Dazs for those special 'chocolate days'.
I was quite impressed.Life without string would be chaos.0 -
NoRecently I've had a run of poor customer service, but have had mixed results from complaining.
Costa - same drink ordered on three different visits, each time prepared differently; no sugar available for drinks; and dirty tables - received £6.00 vouchers, although Costa's reply referred to a different outlet to the one I was complaining about.
McVities - purchased pack of Go Ahead bars, within which one comprised of only 1.5 rather than 2 biscuits - received 2 x £1.00 vouchers and letter of apology.
Burgess - purchased two packs of premium rabbit food which, when opened, was found to contain traces of cheap rabbit cereal - received 2 x £3.21 vouchers and letter of apology.
Tesco - complained to Head Office about decision not to install CCTV cameras outside local store - received automatic response, followed by email that it was being referred to local manager - still waiting to hear back after almost 6 weeks.
Bedz R Us - had problems with delivery of bed, missing fittings, incorrect replacement fittings and delays in replying to emails. Despite promising start when complaint first raised, communication from them totally broke down.
Littlewoods Catalogue - had problems with delivery of mattress, resulting in two wasted days off work and son sleeping on airbed for four nights. Verbal complaint not taken seriously so followed up in writing requesting explanation for non-delivery. Keep receiving stock apology letters which don't address the points raised in my letters.
I previously worked as a Regional Customer Service Co-ordinator and I've always given feedback to companies on positive as well as negative experiences.0 -
