My Virgin Media box stopped working so I called the helpline. I was put through to a foreign call centre and the guy on the other end was having real trouble understanding my problem. My viewing card looked scorched and he just couldn't figure out what I meant!

In the end he said to me "Miss someone under 18 years has died today".
Yes, they probably had, but what does that have to do with me having broken TV?!

I had to hang up on him and found a liverpool number on google. The girl in Liverpool couldn't believe what he'd said and talked me through what to do in 2 minutes, and my box was fixed. I told the girl on the phone that I wanted her to raise a formal complaint about what he said to me, but does anyone think I should write to them too?

Sorry for wondering but what was your response or were you too dumbstruck to reply?! I know I would have been!

Can anybody help me. I am trying to make a complaint to the Body shop with regards to poor service i received in one fo their branches. I have emailed their customer services team twice now and received that standard reply to say that they will review the complaint and get back to me. This is going back from July and still nothing. Has anybody got an email contact that I could try to get a result ??????

Follow it up with a phone call or letter, if you don't get far with the customer services department, ask for the name of the managing director and how to contact them

Email: UKCustomer.Relations@thebodyshop.com
Telephone: 01903 844554

What kind of result are you looking for??
If its aimed at a guarantee that a particular employee in a particular shop will improve their standard of service, I'd contact the particular shop directly to find out if the employee has been made aware of his/her code of conduct and has been retrained if necessary. If its the most senior person at that branch who is at fault, I'd contact Body Shop regional/national dept.
You will probably get a standard reply relating to poor service while complaints are investigated. The nature of today's policies on grievances at work means that they are usually longwinded so as to prevent any opportunity for rash judgements either on the customer's or on the employee's side

I used them a couple of months ago to buy batteries. Ordered two sets, one arrived 10 days later with a note to say they hadn't got the requested brand in stock (Kodak) so had sent an equivilent (Panasonic). Waited another couple of days and the 2nd set still hadn't arrived so emailed, tried to ring (no answer, can't leave a message), emailed agin and then threatened to contact my Credit Card company. Batteries arrived the next day.

Not good really...

I recently complained to Sainsbury's because I bought a box of Sainsbury's Basics jafa cakes, and the inside packaging was opened and the jaffa cakes were stale.

I had an email back asking for several details, such as batch number and barcode etc, and they said they'd get back to me soon.

Companies seem to appreciate complaints for legitimate reasons, so they can sort out any problems in the manufacturing.
