Complaint Letter Successes

Seem to be getting good at complaining lately - my daughter walked into a glass revolving door at John Lewis and we emailed a complaint that there were no markings on the door low down to stop children walking into doors but were for adults and they sent her a couple of activity books and a letter saying they did comply with health and safety though. She was pleased as she did end up with quite a nasty bump on her head!
Got £20 voucher from Next directory as they tried to charge me for an item i'd already paid for.
Got free delivery from Tesco.com as they were half an hour late and I phoned up and complained.
Sounds like I moan a lot but I believe strongly in good customer service as I work in customer service myself!0 -

Just a couple of thoughts on some of the complaints in this thread. If someone else could be made ill by a shop or restaurant's negligence, you should not just allow yourself to be fobbed off with a voucher or refund.
1. It is ILLEGAL for a shop to sell you food that is past the sell by (not best before) date as it could be unfit for human consumption. Do you really want to just accept a voucher for this - they could and should be reported to your local council.
2. If you think you have got food poisoning, go to your doctor! If medical tests show you have food poisoining, you should be asked to complete a form for the local environmental heath dept with details of how you may have contracted it. If not then get over it, we all get tummy bugs!0 -

Im quite a new 'complainer', whenever i got something that wasnt right i just threw it in the bin!
Definately agree with Claire's comments on complaining about food, i ended up in a&e with a drip coming out of my arm due to eating some chicken from a local restaurant. As they could tell it was from there due to what and when i had last eaten i had to fill out all the enviromental health forms.
I've had £8 in vouchers from Muller after finding a piece of green string in one of the 'crunchie' thingys in their yoghurts.
I've also had a £5 voucher from Asda after i found a 2inch long piece of string in one of their bread rolls.0 -

Be careful about just sending the evidence to them. If it goes 'missing' in the post, you'll have no proof. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

This is standard practice for a company when there is a possibility of serious problems. They usually have a full investigation. This happens especially where the health and safety of children are concerned. If something happens to a child the lawyers get rich. So they take it seriously.Lets not use quidco0
