OK folks, heads up. Points to remember.
This was an exception offer and OP deserves full thanks and respect.
Sometimes you miss out on a limited offer. Live with it, that's life.
If you don't want the offer (for what ever reason) don't go for it and move on. Don't slag off the offer. Other people will like it.
Wish the winners of the offer the best of luck, next time it will be your turn.
I would like the more needy to get the offers, but that is not always the case, again life works like that.
Last but not least. All MSE winners should make an effort to identify themselves to other MSE winners just to prove what a great crowd we can be. Good luck to all the winners, I hope you have fantastic holidays.
Wish I could join, you but there you go.
Keep MSE friendly and helpfull, take any bad attitudes elsewhere please.

So, for instance, you have never been on a holiday with your children and and a stranger who wanted nothing in return, but whom just took pleasure in knowing he/she has helped someone less fortunate than them, offered to pay for a well deserved break away for you and your family, you would turn it down??!!!!!

Whether it's down privately or in full view, someone is benefitting from someone elses kindness. Charities after all, when they give these holidays away, they take pics of the families on their holiday for their bulletins/promotional media etc.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but come on!!!

You can't help everyone, but by helping someone, we are on the way to making the world a better place.................

*drifts into Michael Jackson singing "heal the world, make it a better place........"*

That particular person did offer me £20 and i said no. my point is not that he/she is in the wrong for offering, but that how can u offer someone (you dont know) money because they r a single parent and money is tight in a forum where most of the people who post are in the same or similar situation, by all means give the girl £20 quid i couldnt give a monkeys, and in the same breath i dont think she would be in the wrong to take it. - gosh i originally posted just to make the person offering aware that some people may take it in that way!

Has anyone on here actually stayed at the Pontins camp at Prestatyn or Southport?

I'm not so bothered about the activities and facilities in the camp as we'll be spending minimal time there. I am just concerned about the accommodation. I'm not expecting 5* luxury but just want to feel reassured that it isn't going to be hazzardous to health!! I'll be taking cloths, dettol and flash spray but a bit of reassurance from anyone who has been previously would reassure me.

    Thanks

I couldn't try for one of these, can't get time off work. I haven't stayed at Pontins but I would have thought they are similar to Butlins - poor accommodation but good fun. The holiday will be what you make it its only a few days.

I'd like to second that. No doubt everyone thinks I've got sour grapes and it's certainly not like that. I was just saying what alot of people will be thinking but wouldn't have the courage to post it themselves (and that's been confirmed). I just hate to see people missing out who deserve things just as much.

  • for anyone going to southport, I've just booked pleasureland all day wrist bands for £9 each online, they are normally £18 for an adult and £12 for a childs, the offer only lasts till 9th July though. but at that price i can afford it, so dd is going to get a surprise cos i'd said no, £30 is too expensive.

    http://www.pleasureland.uk.com/

thats the link, you need to click on where it says £10 all day, but ordered on line you save another 5%, you just take your email & proof of adrdress on the day you collect your wristbands,

    hth someone,

    woas.
