I don't think you need to worry. We were speaking to another guest on the site. They had been coming for 20 years, and always stay in Club class. They were suprised about our experience. They told us that you get loads of stuff chucked in, such as free tea/coffee, a daily paper, and everything was really clean. I think if you're prepared to pay the extra, you end up with a completely different experience.0 -

thanks very much
my oh bought teh upgrade for £30 for my sisters birthday pressie (we go on 7th and shes 16 on 5th) it would have cost us £10 for bed linnen anyway and had to bering our own towels (i dont fancy washing all next week!!), and we dont have to pay for leccy either and get all the extras thrown in so it was very good value imo.:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
Some advice..to add to that already posted
And this is based on a 'classic' apartment
Check in as early as possible as the nicest/closet to amenities/the gates are given out first.
If you plan to use the sofa bed take a mattress protector/duvet to put on it, as ours was pvc coated, and even with the cotton sheet on top was awful to sleep on.
Not only did it feel like sleeping on a bin liner(even with sheet on!), but the sheet slipped off as I moved around in the night, and I awoke at 3am and had to peel myself off the bare mattress...argh!
Be sure to take loo roll, cloths, sponges , tea towels, scourers and binbags as we had none of these provided
Don't assume you will get a fridge with a freezer compartment as ours didn't, but from chatting to others it seems pot luck!
Take a radio..our t.v had awful reception and a radio would have been great for early morning cuppas.
Only buy 1 electric token, as said before it's very reasonable, and we only used £1.56 all weekend.
Research well before and print out addresses/maps etc to find local restaurants/ takeaways / grocery stores, as the ones on site didn't look great and were very over priced. (99p for a litre of milk!!!!)
Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as people will be coming in at all hours (and very loudly!)
Do take advantage of the vouchers if you are going into the entertainment complex..we did, but only for the england match, and saved quite a bit.
And after all that..we had a wonderful time, the accomodation was basic, but very very clean and quite spacious. The grumbles I had were minor, but I thought posting them may help others prepare for their trip.
We didn't spend much time on site, but it was great to be a short walk from the beach (lovely and clean!) and short drive from so many wonderful places.
And of course the imporatnat bit..no bill! so who's going to fuss!lol
hope everyone going has fun!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
freebie..don't worry hun! it was really clean in ours,
and seeing 'club, it looked even better
should have paid to upgrade really.hehe
In fact..anyone who hasn't yet gone..I would call and pay the £30 to upgrade!
You get lovely sliding patio doors , a microwave and freezer, and nicer furniture, digital t.v, which also means digital radio! and the apartments have picnic benches and barbecues outside, proper lawns and flower beds, and are closer to the play areas and swimming pool etc.
Had I known I would have..for less than a tenner a night it's worth it!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
that sounds nice:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0

When I booked I was charged £30 to go from a 1 bed classic to a 2 bed classic because there's 5 of us including my 2 year old, I assumed wrongly that we'd upgraded apartment. Just phoned to see if I could swap to a 1 bed Club and was told all they have left at Prestatyn is 2 bed club and it would cost another £30. Not entirely happy as I can't afford another £30 but I can't really complain when we've got a Holiday for £30.Desperately seeking [STRIKE]Mr. Squiggles,[/STRIKE] car and garage, [STRIKE]surf board, ball, funhouse,[/STRIKE] wheel, slide and pet carrier :rotfl::santa2::think: :snow_laug0

Dizzy just to let you know that I have just called Pontins Prestatyn and got a 1 bed club apartment. I also had upgraded to the 2 bed classic so it hasnt cost me anymore to change.
Hope that helps anyone.Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

Hi
I phoned earlier today & added another name to my guest list - it didn't cost anything either
I was going to try and sneak someone in, but read through the booking conformation & it says that the budget apartment sleeps 5
PS: Still haven't decided what signal/ badge to use to say a sneaky hi to all the other MSERs going to Cambersands this Friday0 -
Tonight I rang them and tried to change from a 2 bed classic to a 1 bed club but they have no availability in Southport for this weekend. I have paid the £30 to get a 2 bed.Doesn't matter and we will still enjoy it but just got concerned about the comments about the standard of cleaniness of some of the basic chalets. Also sounded nice to have our own garden!0
