High praise indeed :j It makes a change from the digging through it with a fork whilst asking 'What's this??????' that I get from time to time. You'd think I serve up rat poison on a regular basis :rotfl:
Don't worry. It's highly unusual. Dtwin2 has a habit of not starting her meal until she's located the thing she knows she won't like.
The house is lovely and cosy atm. With all the extra blankets and hotties last night we would never have known it was the coldest night.
OH took me to the beach today. It was amazing to see the waterfall and rockpools frozen solid. Despite his assurances that it wasn't that icy, OH fell when picking the girls up from school and banged his head. No concussion though as he could definitely tell that I was holding up 2 fingers at him in the kitchen earlier. :shhh:0 -

Evening all
Many thanks to you all who sent me birthday wishes yesterday, I had a wonderful day and evening, myself and OH are going away for a meal and night in a hotel tomorrow night, it's our fav hotel so am really looking forward to it. DS1 and DS2 are going to stay at OH's parents whilst we are away, so we'll get some quality adult time.
Ventured to the supermarket today as supplies were getting low, tonight I've had fish pie with veg and OH had chicken kievs with pots and baked beans. Have done lots of washing, drying and ironing today seem to be making headway, uniforms are ready for Monday.
Mum and dad joined us for dinner last night, I cooked roast chicken and roast loin of pork, mash, veg, yorkshires and gravy, with mandarin orange cheescake or choc gateaux for dessert. I managed to find a diabetic choc chip cake for mum which I heated a piece up in the micro then offered here a little cream or custard made with sweetener so it was sugar free - she seemed to quite like it and took the rest of the cake home as we had gateaux and birthday cake still to eat! I know she finds not having dessert difficult as she has a sweet tooth but I do worry about her eating things that she's not supposed to have (she hates throwing things away or buying specialist foods that are so expensive).
My bro and SIL bought me a coat from M&S for my bday but unfortunately it didn't fit so needed to take it back and the local store didn't stock that particular range but found another coat to exchange it with that I actually preferred and it fits an absolute treat and looks really good, so had that one instead and of course it was more expensive so I added the difference but am really pleased with it as I've never had such a smart coat! So will be wearing it to go away in tomorrow!
Went to the scales yesterday and had put on 3lb over Xmas and New Year, but when I weighed yesterday have lost 2lb so now just need to lose the other 1lb (and not put any on this weekend!!) and I'll be back on track, but am enjoying my birthday celebrations so won't be too worried if I gain a bit as I know I need to stick to the diet and it will come off next week. Hotel has a pool etc, so am intending to get a swim if possible. Have menu planned for next week so shouldn't need to buy any more food, will start baking again etc one all the Christmas biscuits and choccies etc have been eaten. Need to go now as it's getting late.
Take care those in the snow. Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
