    Evening All

Late start this morning so didn't get to post...I'd like to tell you I was extremely busy doing OS type things but I was just too toasty in bed to get out of it

Had to work this morning and I don't usually work Fridays and it just feels wrong! have to work next friday too as we're busy.

N9eav :hello: hope you had a good holiday.

I have a load of MS jobs to do tomorrow which will take all day and luckily our weather hasn't been too bad - using the fact that after I've done them I'll be £100 richer as my motivation! I have my directions sorted and my job details written out and also scheduled the jobs so it ends up in a pizza hut :T

Enjoy the rest of your day

  • Hi all,

Haven't read through properly, today has been reasonably eventful! We were supposed to be going to Paris, but our Eurostar was cancelled and we can get a refund or rebooking so we'll do that. I'm supposed to be going to Dublin next weekend so I hope things pick up by then! Had to call a taxi this morning to get to work, the taxi driver was shocked at the state of the roads and pavements where I live. It cost me nearly £30, luckily the boss is going to try and let me claim on expenses. I got to work and expected to be totally ripped to shreds after the phone call yesterday evening, but he was quite good about it, even though I cried! I don't like making mistakes, and because I didn't think my actions yesterday through properly I made quite a big one. However I am now aware of procedure and what's expected of me, so I've learnt from it.

Luckily one of my colleagues dropped me off in Chiswick, it's completely different to where I live, as the pavements and roads are clear. I went to Blacks and picked up a pair of walking shoes, as my boots are slick-soled and were just making the situation worse. I popped into Sainsbo to pick up a few bits and pieces, then walked home as the pavements were clear. However as soon as you get into my area nothing was gritted and I actually slipped and landed on my bottom :( It really hurt but I don't think I've done too much damage. I'm hoping that's the only one of the season!

Hugs and positive thoughts to all, I hope everyone's not too bored and miserable, I know it's hard not to spend all your time thinking about the grim things, especially when it's difficult to get out and about.

    Take care,

    Caroline xx
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

    Good evening.

I haven't been online at all today so am very late posting.

It's been a strange day here really & I'm feeling pretty down tbh. MIL was awake today when we went to see her but isn't talking to anyone at all. She can hear us and watches us but just won't speak. I understand that she's exhausted and ill but it's upsetting my DH & SIL very much not to be able to hear their Mum's voice. I have held my tongue and not said anything but I do think it's a bit off.

Apart from that I blended the vegetable soup I made the other day and it was very tasty at lunchtime & I also made a lovely pasta sauce with bacon to go with linguine at tea time.

It's bitterly cold here but the hot water bottles are ready to be filled tonight. I'm going to go for a bath soon then curl up with the dogs and a book. I managed to get to the library yesterday so have something to read at least.

Diva The biggest of hugs to you xx

Lamewolf The biggest of hugs to you too. Hope you feel less tearful tomorrow xx

Hugs to anyone else who needs them & take care out there :A

Sorry for your troubles Sunnygirl. xxx and hope tommorrow is a much better day Lamewolf

Just had a yummy pot roast chicken with garlic mash. I scored 30/30 according to the family who are obsessed with "Come Dine with Me". :D

OH found it so good that he's conked out on the sofa beside me and the girls are playing schools in the kitchen.

I'm putting my feet up for the evening and raising a glass to all my lovely family who are , hundreds of miles away, sitting down to a slap up meal as we speak. :o:beer:

    ps Nice hat Aussie. :D

High praise indeed :j It makes a change from the digging through it with a fork whilst asking 'What's this??????' that I get from time to time. You'd think I serve up rat poison on a regular basis :rotfl:
