thanks for that Bitsy, I'm quite an experienced flier so normally handle jet lag well. I haven't had any of the normal 'symptoms' of jetlag other than the early waking up, thought I'm an early riser normally so I guess that's to be expected!

Morning all,
Looks like we have had a bit more snow overnight, with more due over the weekend, dd's school is shut again, so I Have left her in bed, i must admit its a bit of a relief, as the school is 15 miles away, and I would be worried about getting her back again, the school have suggested that the girls log onto the school website and study  yeh right like thats going to happen.
Off to work for me today, Its a very hairy walk for me, yesterday I was slipping all over the place, and trying to cross the busy roads is dangerous, but still last day before the weekend :T
My fridge is looking very empty, just six eggs and some fresh pasta and milk and cheese in there, as well as the jam etc, my freezer is just about empty too, I hate it, cant wait to get moved to fill it back up again :rotfl:
Tea tonight will be omlettes with bread and butter and sweetcorn, I will have to ask OH to stagger up the local shop for some mushrooms and tea and a loaf to see us over the weekend, oh and some wine too
the weekend will consist of the last few bits of packing dismantaling the beds etc, my lovley mum is cooking a roast for us on sunday, and having the dog overnight for us.
Take care in the snow all, and wrap up warm if you need to go out xx0 -
I spent over 2 weeks in Wisconsin USA in snow and -21 and no problems we get a little snow and we can't handle it...... I thought we were British? Perhaps we are now too multicultural?
Have a good day and keep warm
It has nothing to do with being too multicultural whatever you mean by that.
Well, morning all,
My kids are all going to school today thank goodness, this extended holiday has gone on long enough.
Lunchboxes today have salami rolls, flapjacks/Christmas cake and fruit. I shall have some cauliflower and cheese soup from my freezer with toast and pate.
Breakfast was porridge with sultanas and golden syrup.
Supper will be fried eggs and hm oven chips/wedges plus some sort of veg-peas probably.
I was going to make a suet roll yesterday for pudding, couldn't be bothered in the end which was just as well as the veg chilli I made was very filling and none was leftover. I might make a traditional pud for the weekend though seeing as we have the weather for it.
Don't need to go out apart from walking dd to school and fetching her. I bought the weekend wine yesterday from the Tesco Express so I'm staying in and planning next week's menus carefully using what I have in as much as possible.0 -

Morning peeps
freezing here again this morning but no extra snow overnight, just the existing stuff which is frozen solid so very treacherous.
Travelling yesterday and today has not been a worry for me as i have rung in ill, bit mad really as we are short staffed enough but have been in so much pain that it had become unbearable. The doctors were great and i managed to cancel todays appointment and get a sit and wait one yesterday so although i spent a good part of the day in the surgery i was seen and now have meds etc. I have a very infected and painful right ear with no hearing in it at all and have lost part of the hearing in my left  its sending me loopy but the pain is the worst and the lack of sleep is making me horrible and snappystill i`m being treated now so fingers crossed, the timescale is one to two weeks to get the full hearing back in both ears so once the pain is bearable i`ll be back to w*rk. I was hoping to go back today but know that i would be stupid to do that. Dunno how i`m going to manage without my ears working though  Guess i`ll find out once i`m there.
Hester - You have my sympathy, i`ve never had a problem with my ears until now so can imagine how you must be feeling, the pain is as bad as toothache.
Yesterday i did nothing apart from sit in the docs, and i mean nothing at all - i`ve only just read yesterdays thread! today i hope to be able to at least make some soup to feed us so now that the meds are kicking in i shall make my way into the kitchen. The pain should dull for a couple of hours i think before i need to keep still again so i shall take advantage. I need to fit the houndie walk into that window too so must dash.
Diva - ((((HUGS)))) for you and Treacle, look after yourselves.
Redruby - Good luck for Monday! Bet you can`t wait
Nmlc - Belated Birthday wishes for yesterday.
Jayward - ((((HUGS)))) hope that you are feeling ok
Keep safe and warm folks

IT’S FRIDAY! I love Fridays. They are inevitably followed by Saturday…:j
Thank’s for the suggestion of the extendable lead, Bitsy Beans. We do have one and I used it this morning. I was very nervous because Puppy-Dog is pulling on the lead at the moment (I had his heelwork perfect. Curse adolescence!) and it’s very slippery but he actually behaved very well. I did have HM Chicken Liver Cake in my pocket which is his absolute favourite so a little bribery was used I’m afraid! But mission accomplished and no broken bones!
Essex-Girl – Scrapbooking is a huge passion of mine – I often make mini-books for friends as birthday / Christmas gifts. There are some fab sites out there if you’re looking for inspiration – my absolute favourite has got to be www.shimelle.com.
OH came home early from work yesterday – he sneezed and wrenched something in his chest. I laughed when he told me that but now I’m feeling a bit guilty because he had a terrible night – fever and aching all over. He’s off work again today which is so unlike him. He’s very active and gets bored easily so doesn’t like to sit around the house. Unfortunately if he doesn’t work he doesn’t get paid, but it’s not the end of the world as we’ve managed to build up a bit of a cushion for ourselves over the last few months so we won’t have any problems financially.
OS wise today not a huge amount going on. Pulled a portion of HM Carrot & Lentil soup out of the freezer in the hope that OH will eat it later on. If not I’ll have it. We’re very low on fresh veg at the moment so I might have to walk into town tomorrow if OH can’t take me. Although I do drive I’m not very confident and the thought of trying to drive off of our icy estate terrifies me! D.Dad is popping over tonight and has promised to bring some bread and milk so at least we can have breakfast tomorrow! We should be off to doggie training tomorrow but I don’t think that will be happening somehow. A bit of a shame but never mind.
We cleared our elderly neighbour’s path and gritted it for her last night – she was chuffed to bits, bless her. She has our phone number and I wish she’d call us but like most of us I think she finds it difficult to ask for help.
Hugs to anybody who needs them – especially in the cold weather!

Morning All!
Slept okay last night, for a change! Been over the shop for the paper, had to get full fat milk as that was all they had, and no bread, although the owner has said more is expected today, and he'll bring some over to me later.
Bin hasn't been collected either:mad: bet it's our friend elf'n'safety:rotfl:
May be looking after a friends little girl today. Her nursery is open, but mum can't get her car out, so she can't go. I've had to put off babysitting for someone tomorrow, as my car is snowed in, and I'm frightened of driving in this weather:eek:

Sorry I made a similar point yesterday because I was very fed up having kids at home. Feeling brighter today though!
My DD just made it to the big town but bus sliding all over the place. Doggies been out for a walk. They only going short distance as their paws start hurting. Thinking of buying them some paw protectors.
Stay safexI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Hi, all, I'm a lurker who doesn't join in often as I usually don't get time to type but our school is off again today (fuel company can't deliver fuel for the boilers apparently and we've now run out) so I'm home and able to read and post.
DD and DS's schools are both closed again and DH is off work today. DS2's nursery is still running and even though he hasn't been yet this week DH has just popped him down there for a couple of hours to get him back into the routine of going there.
Not much going on here, other than that. DH is keeping busy digging out the cars that keep getting stuck by our house and I intend to take advantage of a DS2-free morning to do some cleaning. We're ok-ish for supplies, only running low on milk now but hopefully OH will get some while he's out - apparently milk and bread are selling out in local shops as soon as they're being stocked.
hope everyone has a good morning!0
