They'll hang onto it as long as possible - getting the interest..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Too true ZTD..........
Well, today is the last time I see Cruella for two weeks!!! Hurrrah!!! (Cruella is her current name in the office as we have realised how closely she resembles the Disney character physically!)
No card from her, not even an email to say thankyou. I was a bit naughty and handed her a card as I left and a small wrapped box of chocolates. I didn't get them because I like her, I just wanted to kind of get a bit of a dig in really by being 'nice'........it worked. She gulped and looked hugely embarrassed and she said it was 'totally unexpected and very naughty'........
I know, I know, I shouldn't have done, but it made me feel a bit better to see her flustered.......worth buying the chocolates for......
I'm at work tomorrow, but there are the traditional last day nibbles. In the past, I've always done something a bit 'cheffy' and spent a fair bit getting the ingredients, but this time I've stuck a load of Asda party sausage rolls in the oven. Just as appreciated and as there is always tonnes of food left over, I didn't think it worth spending the money.
Slight 'per question' pay increase on offer from AQA for working Christmas and Boxing Day. I'll probably work Boxing Day as I'm doing nothing else and I expect the OH will clear off home as normal about 10am.0 -

Which one? Glenn Close or the cartoon version?oakdale_minx wrote:No card from her, not even an email to say thankyou. That's was very naughty and you know it.Having said that you could have bought her a present in a plain brown wrap and said "Hope you get a buzz out of this - hope to see you happier in the new year."

Spend your money and time and effort and skills on those who appreciate it. If Asda sausages hit the spot - then Asda sausages are the tool for the job."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Woohoo..........finished work!!!!!
Well, i'm back in next Wednesday but as Cruella won't be there I don't really mind - I'm off the whole week after the New Year instead.
Got the paperwork for my Masters re-sit. To add insult to injury of failing, I have to pay £71 if I want to re-sit! The exam will be late April. Part of me thinks it isn't worth it as I felt I did my best last time. Part of me thinks I could do a lot of work between now and April. Part of me thinks £71??? To go through that torture again???!!
Been naughty and ordered some shoes from the asos sale. Three pairs for £28 all in. I'll see how well they fit etc when they arrive as to whether I keep them or not. Also got 10% off with a code.
Also ordered £29 worth of bits from the NEXT sale (with the help of the code from MSE!). Definitely two birthday presents in there to keep for next year. Will decide on the other two bits whether to keep or not.
OH is at the pub tonight, so I guess he will be asking me to take him there and back. I'll spend the evening on AQA, but I might treat myself to a pizza or something whilst I'm working..........well, apparently, it is Christmas...........0 -

wishing you all the best - happy christmas (with or without OH)
and a prosperous new yearsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Thankyou robnye - and a fantastic christmas to you as well!
Shopping arrived ok yesterday from Ocado, but it was no better/worse than Tesco or Asda, so I'll probably stick to using Asda in the futurea as there seems to be a steady flow of £10 vouchers for there.
Did absolutely nothing yesterday. Kept falling asleep, so I probably needed the rest!
Shoes arrived from ASOS. Definitely not keeping one pair and I'm undecided about the other two. Which probably means I won't wear them and so should send them back!:o
First job of the New Year will be to cancel my mobile contract. I'll get a PAYG sim card and stick £10 on it. That will probably do me for much of the year! That will mean an extra £20 a month.
Going to start putting my court bundles together between christmas and new year for my bank charge cases. Apparently the Abbey are paying out on receipt of the bundle, so I'll get on with that.
Will get on with AQA in a bit. Won't do any tomorrow, but will put in a few hours on Boxing Day, particularly as there is a bit more per question offered tomorrow, Boxing Day and New Years Eve.ONE MORE SLEEP TO GO!!!!!!:xmastree:To everyone who has fought their way through my diary so far, THANKYOU, your support means more to me than you know.........have a very very merry and peaceful Christmas and I'll see you the other side of the turkey mountain!!

well, the dinner is cooking nicely.
Went for a walk in the park. Picked up my dog from the ex and gave him some dentastix, a turkey flavoured biscuit and a 'how clever is your dog' kit (the dog, not the ex!). Thought I might as well go for a walk as I knew I'd be on my own for a few hours.
OH went off at 10.30 to call his relatives and see his son. His son and girlfriend popped round to see me with a present (luckily I had a nice bottle of wine and a funky wine bag to give to them - phew!!) and OH has popped off again to phone his sister. I said he could do it here, but he said he would do it from home.
so, i'm passing the time until the pressies get opened by being on AQA......sad or what?!
I hope that everyone is having a fantastic day.
I'm deliberating whether to go to Curry's in the morning for the fridge freezer they have reduced to £149. It is something I do need, the one I got for £35 when I moved here is on its last legs. i'll see if I can afford it first!0 -
Did a bit of AQA today.
Decided to stick with the fridge I have for as long as it keeps going.
Decided to send all three pairs of shoes back to ASOS. I know they will just languish in the shoe cupboard otherwise. They are lovely, but I know they won't get much wear.
OH got me some nice presents, including a chocolate fountain and a 15 inch flat screen TV for the kitchen - fab!!!
Back to work tomorrow........:(0 -
Back at work.......boo hiss.....
On my own and cold in the office so decided to treat myself to some breakfast from the staff canteen. Think it was definitely added up incorrectly at the till as I got quite a lot of cooked breakfast for £1.63!!! Result!
Did over £40 on AQA over Christmas and Boxing Day, I'm hoping to hit £500 by the end of the month.0
