Thankyou kiwigirl for your thoughts- helps me feel even more positive. It is bizarre that I actually want the redundancy, although it will still only be a real last option. I've heard on the grapevine that they have made her permanent, although I've not heard anything official. God knows how, as she is a Director and they should advertise it, but if she has been, then this is my only option to get out without just leaving.
Off to MFI today armed with all my luvverly Tesco/MFI vouchers. Didn't get a response on the fridge 'want' on freecycle, so I'm going to be getting one from MFI. Everything I want comes to £80 over my budget, so I am going to haggle for a deal. I'm willing to walk away and wait for the sale to be half price plus 30% as my vouchers are valid until April. I'd rather do that then spend money on the card just because I feel I have to have it NOW.0 -
I've just ventured into the freezer to find some curry sauce for tonight and I'm a bit shocked how much food is in there! I seem to have had a bit of a mad spending spree on reduced food over Christmas!
I did a couple of trips just before the shops shut for Christmas and New Year and got lots of the mega reduced stuff (meat etc) and just chucked it all in and shut the door. Now my freezer is full to overflowing! Well, hopefully I won't need to do much shopping this month, and it was all stuff I would normally have bought, but just really reduced. I'm going to have a big clearout of the freezer/fridge and cupboards and see how far I can get into the month without going to the supermarket.0 -
Thats what we did yesterday Minxy.
We went through our bulging cupboards, chucked out the stuff that was out of date  and brought the stuff that needs used to the front etc.
I can see some interesting meals coming up over the next few weeks, but I'm determined not to go food shopping for a good while. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Well, the deed is done and the MFI vouchers are spent!
Everything I wanted eventually came to £105.04 over my £1150 Tesco vouchers. I asked about the new sale discount starting tomorrow and said I would be willing to wait until it fitted into my budget. I haggled hard and gave it a bit of woe is me, this really is the limit of my budget and I am proud to say that he gave me the head board for free (£100) which meant I handed over the grand total of £5.04 in cash!!!! :j
He groaned as I pulled out the Tesco vouchers and said 'ah, now I know why you had such a specific budget'.......and as he gave me the receipts he said 'all done.........and I think I certainly have been'........:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

It was nice ..........blush........
They are the same as black beans. They will make a good soup, or black bean sauce for Chinese dishes. Use them in a kind of rice and peas Jamaican dish, would be good (thinking aloud here), mixed bean stew (have you any kidney beans etc? ) , cook and squash them and add spices, onion, garlic and make little bean cakes/burgers.0 -
