Need to pop to the post office today with my ebay package,so i've a few pounds in my paypal account now to keep for a rainy day. Also found £8 in my first reserve account, so there's a few emergency pennies for the month. AQA payment is the 9th this month. All my quidco bits (£40) say the expected payment month is January and greasypalm says £25 should be paid to me this month.

    All adds up!

Heard an advert on the radio saying 'worried about your credit card bill this month' and I thought - NOPE! This has to be the first January ever I've not been worried about getting through the month/paying for Christmas. It feels like a normal month, which is good really I guess for January!!

Sounds like you had fun spending the tesco vouchers, for once every little helps is very true in your case. Well done on being good over Christmas as well, at this rate you'll have it all paid off in no time.:T Just make sure you're putting enough aside for when you have to pay your aqa taxes, you don't want that sneaking up on your next year if your debt free by then. :j

I have to confess that I haven't been putting anything away for my tax bill for AQA which I know is naughty, but i've been using the money so far since I started to pay off the cards and then I used one month's money to replace the cards.

The plan is that I should get all my bank charges back next month with the triple court date, which will clear all my unsecured debt - the CC's and the overdraft. I'll have no reason to use the cards or the o/d again unless something really really major happens as I'll have enough salary left over after the bills to more than pay for day to day living.

My AQA money will then go straight into a savings account each month and I will use some of it for the tax bill.

Well, that's the plan at the moment. Fingers crossed it comes off!

Free dinner tonight courtesy of a mystery shop. Yum.

free dinner was yummy last night!

Spent some of the money I got on ebay a couple of days ago on some halogen bulbs. I needed to replace one and they are £2 EACH in B+Q!! Found 10 for £7.90 including the postage last night, so thought it better to buy them that way rather than individually.

Got a £5 off no minimum spend code from Empire Stores. Apparently I am an exceptional customer who doesn't seem to have bought much recently........the most I've every owed them is about £20 and that was quite a while back! Expect I'll find some pillowcases or something in the sale on their website I can spend the £5 on. Or I might find a little something to put away for Christmas next year.

Please ..........no........did I really say that last sentence????????!!!!!!!

    Hi OM

Wow!! I've spent much of today reading this thread, and am blown away by your openness and honesty in your diary, so much so that I felt moved to post my first message!!

I've finally faced facts regarding our debt this week, and can only hope that I can muster a fraction of the resourcefulness and commitment that you've shown in dealing with your debt.

Every best wish to you in 2007 - good luck with the job, OH, exam resit etc.

    Hi OM

    Happy and prosperous New Year.

I only posted because your reply count was at 666 which I thought might bring bad luck.

    Best Wishes

Thankyou JoKay and medman - :D

JoKay, Thankyou for using your first post on me, I feel really proud (I think that's the word I want to use) that you used it on my diary - I think I'm trying to see it a bit like a battle plan - lots of little goals and some middle type goals etc.

Medman - thankyou for that - I'm hoping 2007 will be a hell of a lot better than 2006 luck wise, so everything helps!!

Well, the code the catalogue gave me couldn't be used on sale items. And there ain't a lot for a fiver in the catalogue! I had the choice of

    2 facecloths
    2 pillowcases
    a vest top
5 metres of net curtain

I went for the pillowcases, although I seem to be breeding them as I have loads from codes I've found!! :o

Didn't sleep well Friday night and was really fidgety last night because I'm back at work tomorrow and have to face cruella. I'm dreading it, I really am. I'm almost dreading going to bed tonight because I know how little sleep I will get thinking about seeing her. The consultation period is over now and as far as I know, nobody has given her any comments about her proposals. Time for her to write the job descriptions, which I'm hoping she does quickly so I can turn it down and ask for re-deployment.

My nightmare scenario would be that they say I have to take the job in the department, although I think because it is a new job/job description, I get tosay I don't want it just as much as she gets to say she doesn't want me. I hope.

Had to put petrol in the car. OH has been promising since Tuesday to put some in and I couldn't wait any longer as I ended up pulling all the rubbish through the fuel tank last time he promised and didn't do it.

I was naughty though and it didn't even hit me as I drove away......with some chocolate and a Sunday paper on the seat next to me. Why did I buy the chocolate???? Because it said 3 (big bars) for £1.20. Bargain. Ahem......:o

I haven't bought a newspaper for well over a year, but I just fancied sitting and reading one for a couple of hours.........oh, and the free yoga DVD enclosed rather swung it I'm afraid. Always fancied having a go at tying myself in knots in a leotard!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Back at work. Not seen Cruella yet, but she tried to blame me for at least one thing whilst I was off. Luckily someone stuck up for me and said it was nothing to do with me.........

Found out that unless the new job in the new structure is massively different from my current post, then I can't turn it down, and I can't request re-deployment. If I request re-deployment (rather than being told that I am being re-deployed) I would have to go to the salary of that post immediately, without the salary protection, which could mean a pay cut.

Which means my plan of escaping has had a set back. Unless Cruella decides she doesn't want me, it looks like I will have to stay in my current post. Not what I wanted to hear. I can only keep my fingers crossed that she wants me gone as much as I think she does!!

Had a good weekend on AQA.

Still working my way through the freezer etc and so won't need to go to the supermarket yet. Getting a bit low on loo roll though, so might have to buy some of that soon!

Hello OM and fellow readers. Just wanted to wish you a very Happy New Year as today is my first day back online since the holidays.

Glad to hear you had a good weekend on AQA and don't let Cruella get you down too much. This time of the year can be depressing enough as it is.

Right, off for a :coffee: and to do some catching up with other boards.
