You're not the only one!!!
I went out Friday night and I hang my head in shame to admit I spent £30. £15 was on taxis. I ended up buying myself one drink and one round, but still managed to get very very drunk (well I didn't think I was at the time:o ) when a group from the pub decided to go to town and I went along with them.
4.30am I got in after 6.5 pints of cider........oh dear.......
I'm doing the re-sceduled mystery shop today - it's free lunch at a pub very near me,so i'm looking forward to that as there it is a generous allowance - I can spend £17!! And I get £11 on top of that.
I'm supposed to be at a bbq this afternoon, but i'm going to cry off as I have my essay to be in by the 31st and I erm, well, haven't got very far. I went to the OU online calculator and as long as I get over 9% for this essay I will pass the essay part of the module, although I still have to pass the exam in October. I still want to do a fairly decent piece of work and as this section isall about digital TV as well as the internet, it is two areas I'm most interested in. There's tonnes of reading still to do though
I got my barclaycard statement and they have finally reduced the APR. It's now 15.9% instead of the 25.9% last month and 29.9% the month before. I was amazed, it's reduced my minimum monthly payement by £10! Such a lot of money just because of the hiked interest rate. Criminal really.
I'm going to do my capital one court claim in a minute. It is £288 plus about £100 interest.
I reckon I'll definitely get a judgement by default from Citicards. I can't see them having anything with the courts before midnight tonight! they get until Tuesday, but unless they acknowledged it Friday afternoon, it will be too late to do anything.
my work shoes came. They are fine. £16.99 for leather shoes from NEXT is cheap, and the leather is a bit hard, but they will do nicely.
Strange how I find it so hard to treat myself now. I do have to confess I am leaking money a little - I haven't done a major shop for nearly two weeks and I keep popping to get 'bits'. I've had some bargains though - 9p for pitta bread etc!0 -
lunch was yummy, feedback form has been completed and I just need to post off the receipt to get a refund.
Filed my capital one claim. I need some charges to be refunded quick -the court fees have hammered my cards and I know I'll get the court fees back, but so far I've paid well over £200!! I'll need another £100 for the next Abbey claim Allocation Questionnaire when they write to me about it as the claim is over £1500. I want to be able to update my unsecured o/s debt, but as soon as I pay some off, i'm adding court fees to them!
Popped into Asda and bought some cream horns for 10p. Double yum. Ok, I confess, it was two lots.
And 2 fresh cream strawberry tarts. but they were only 10p!
Hit my AQA Bank Holiday target of £730 and so I'm going to do my essay tomorrow.
I am. I promise. I won't leave it until Tuesday as I have the whole week off. Honest.0 -
I'm doing my essay - I am , honest!!
Well, ok, I'm kind of skim reading, pinching relevant bits, re-writing them and pressing 'word count' every sentence or so!!
Started reading amagazine called 'lighter life' which is the new diet 'thing'. It is based on sorting your head out in relation to food, and a food 'abstinence' with all food (eek!!) replaced with soups, shakes, bars. It is VERYlow calorie.
Anyway, as I know my food issues are in my head rather than the pounds slowly creeping on with the years, I did a bit of reading. It is £66 a week!!! Yes, a week!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently they justify it by saying this counters to cost of your food shopping, counselling, alcohol, eating out, paying for lunch and snacking. I couldn't believe it.
I wouldn't have stuck to it anyway. But at £66 a week i'm definitely not!!!!0 -
Hope you don't read this for AGES om - keep doing that essay!!!!!
Have a colleague who lost around 13 stone      on lighter life. Kept it all off for a year - now however as she's unhappy she's started to overeat again. Weight piling back on. Great for weight loss, but doesn't re-educate you or help you deal with 'food issues'.
Am bored. Wish I had your strawberry tarts here.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I'm afraid the strawberry tarts went very quick. I mean, they were only 5p each, so I thought they must be on the verge of going off, so I thought it best to eat them quick....;)
woo hoo!!! :j
Essay done and dusted yesterday!!
AQA £800 hit last night!
All week off work!!
And off to do a mystery shopping in town in a bit.
I've decided to add the £38 worth of Tesco vouchers to the pile for MFI and they are now all in the envelope. I will have £1150 to spend on my bedroom furniture. I'm going to wait for the half price plus 30% sale. I'm a bit sad in that I've been watching the MFI sales for months now and they go in cycles. The next one will either be a half pice plus VAT free or maybe half price plus 30%. I know, it's sad isn't it!!
To be honest the lighter life thing wouldn't work for me. I've tried slim fast which is similar and lasted a day. Unfortnately food is my addiction, I just want to eat all the time!
Well, today is crunch day for citicards. If there is no post from them, and moneyclaim online doesn't change after 10, I can press the 'judgement by default' button at 1 minute past midnight tonight!! It will be a real feeling of gratification to get back a little bit of gratification for all the times banks and credit cards charged me relentlessly. It's £375 plus £100 interest. Surely not worth the bother of going for a set aside.
Anyone fancy being a bailiff with me??????0 -
Hmmm, think I'll refuse your kind offer - notice you weren't so generous with the strawberry tarts
. Can we dress up withn a hat and a shiny badge???? oh no, that's sheriffs....
Well done on assignment!!!!!
Well done also on AQA. Do you mind me asking how much they pay - I've been thinking about this for a while, but not till next year. Do you have to commit yourself to so many hours etc?
Enjoy the mystery shopping. I've got £25 due - not impressed!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well, postie has been. nothing from them. I reckon I'll be looking to hire a big hard looking bloke to take to Citicards to put the frighteners on them! :rotfl:ali007 wrote:Well done on assignment!!!!! !
Ta. It's pants to be honest. I almost emailed him to apologise in advanceali007 wrote:Well done also on AQA. Do you mind me asking how much they pay - I've been thinking about this for a while, but not till next year. Do you have to commit yourself to so many hours etc?
I get 30p a question, and you can doo whatever hours you fancy. It suits me because I'm always online even in my spare time so it's just up my street!
I'll keep you in mind Ali the next time strawberry tarts are 10p a box.....all the 3 packs of ciabatta rolls were 10p in Asda last night so I grabbed 4 lots. Not quite the same as strawberry tarts though I guess!
I'm making plum crumble later. I was very naughty on Saturday. I went to my old house to pick up Charlie (my dog) to take him for a walk (strange joint custody thing with the ex, but it works). He wasn't in and I went into the back garden after the dog's walk to hit a ball around for a bit (my dog is loony for tennis, even after a walk) and I noticed that the normally sad looking plum tree had loads of very ripe plums on them.........one carrier bag and a bit of precarious stretching later, and guess what I have in my fridge??? Ok, naughty I know, but he hates plums and every year they just fall and rot. And I found a packet of value custard mix in the cupboard, so a very cheap pudding tonight!!
(fancy some Ali?!)0
