hhmmm....i've just done my budgets and figures for September and they are looking worryingly healthy. I won't have my OU to pay (£50) as I've got £265 to pay off when the cheque from work clears and then I'm paying off the balance with my AQA money at the beginning of the month. I'm expecting about £45 from Greasypalm mid month, and after bills I'll have about £250 to play with. Maybe I've forgotten something. The abbey website is down at the minute so I can't check if I've incuded everything in my calculations, but I think I have.
I've also got £38 in Tesco vouchers on their way this quarter and , as I've got all Ineed to convert to MFI vouchers for the bedroom, I might use the £38 worth to fill the freezer and cupboard with basics for September.
I'm going to pay the CC's as normal and then see what I get paid by AQA and clear whatever I can.
I might even be able to afford some new clothes - a new blouse/shirt at least would be brilliant!
(cue car breaking down and wrecking the plans!)0 -
Abbey site back up.
I'll have £250 plus whatever I get from greasypalm as food/clothes etc money next month.
So I'm going to pay £100 off my barclaycard instead of the £59 that is needed.0 -

hi there Billy (my favourite name!) - AQA is an online research company answering texts from the public.
this is their website

Having a VERY bad day. Feel like I rush around after everybody and nobobdy ever rushes around after me. I am sick of nobody making me feel special......
sorry........bad day at work and my OH has been getting me to try to alter some of the arrangements for the David Beckham competition I've won. One of the lads he is taing has broken his collar bone (talk about last minute) - can he still come and watch? If not, can he be replaced? The academy say fine, no problem, but call Volkswagen as it is their tournament. Tried to call the number of the person who arranged it with me and it was a recorded message saying they were a marketing company calling on behalf of a client. Called my OH back and he said, well ask the academy for Valkswagens number
I DID - am I stupid???????? (ok, I only said 'I did' to him,) the academy don't have a number for them........gggggggrrrrrrrrr.......stupid child breaking his collar bone. He'll just have to watch or not come along. Simple choice. running round sorting out something I don't even get to go to!! I want something autographed by Golden Balls at the very least for giving up the prize to some 10 year old kids I don't know who then break their collar bone!
And my boss is getting worse. Apparently I need to do more work faster. Tell her exactly what I'm doing, when I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. I've been in this job for 7 years and never had a problem and I've been in PR for 15 years.
I KNOW HOW TO WRITE A PRESS RELEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the big rant. I am so tempted to go and buy some alcohol. Or go out. Or both.0 -
Sorry to hear about the problem with David Beckham.... am prepared to assist you by stepping into the breach to fill the space.
just give me a week or 2 to get fit.........
Well, tha's my good deed for the day....... You owe me one!!!!

Cheers Ali - I hope you are between 8 and 15 years old to qualify for the available place!!!!!
I did the DFW thing last night and bought a 3 litre box of wine rather than going out. No, I didn't drink it all!!!!!! It was only £4.17 in Somerfield, and, although it is only 7.5%, a few (very) decent size glasses helped the cause!!!!
Got a letter from Capital One today about my second claim for charges (the card I currenly hold). They have refunded £72 back to my account as the difference between the £20's and the £12 charge they now put on the accounts. Excellent news.
The letter before action for the remaining £28 and the £20 they charged me this month goes on Monday..........0 -
oooohhhhh, even with my new miracle reperfect face cream (free sample yeah! from L'oreal) I don't think I can pass as a 15 yrd old any more. Oh well, worth a try.
Good news on the bank charges, I love hearing about these success stories!
Have got a confession to make to all - have never said what debts I have on here as I don't have a 'proper' debt as such. But OH and I are only together at weekends (should be OHHalf really!!!), and our finances are v peculiar. Upshot is he has put a lot more money into our property than I have. I walked away from my marriage 9 yrs ago with hardly a penny and this will never happen to me again!!!!! Have been slowly paying money into our offset mortgage so he now has paid £11743.09 more than me - so this is now my debt signature. I intend to throw all I can at it, whilst still having a life, holidays, putting son through uni etc.
Am nearly 45:eek:    and plan is to have paid by the time I am 48. That is 36 months, so means around £325 a month, I can do this easily at the mo as son is having year out of uni, but will struggle next 2 years when he goes back so plan on getting ahead now. Will reduce debt signaure every month (hopefully!!!) but instead of bringing dfd forward I will reduce the monthly payment I need to make to acheive dfd of Aug 09.
Feel bad about admitting this as it's not a real debt, I don't pay interest and don't have threatening letters etc, however it is very real to me. The good thing is that every £1 I pay off is worth over £3 in equity so this gives me an extra incentive to save (that £1.50 coffee is worth nearly £5 to me!!!).
So confession time over, hope I won't get thrown off dfw!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
