  • I've just done the month ahead budget calculations. Twice. And with no CC's to pay, no Council Tax this month and no Water rates to pay this month either, I have £575 spare!

Might have to do it again. Just in case I've really messed up.

SirSaver - I stopped bothering with Lightspeed after a couple of months, I didn't seem to be getting anyway with them.

When I went to court, I took lots and lots and lots of advice from other users on the Consumer Action Group and I did LOTS of reading. Unless you are a citicards customer, there is little chance of you having to go. They are the only ones defending but are now starting to fall foul of judges tired of them messing around. PM me if you get that far and I'll help you.
  • OM,

I can see why you are scared by the prospect of being 'jobless' etc. It is very scary.
However, you KNOW you wouldn't be able to earn an income between AQA and any other little job you could get...
YOu know you are an incredible chef and you KNOW everyone loves Chocolate...
If Mr Flake can earn £800 with hhis chocolate scheme, IMAGINE what you could do.
Also, Imagine waking up each morning doing something you enjoy and without having to face beyatch face. (God, I'd love to punch that womans lights out-and I'm not normally prone to violence, lol)

    Where's the risk?

My husband and I have just sold what most people would consider a dream home, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, study, 2 reception rooms, eat in kitchen etc to move into a SMALL 3 bed semi so we can go for our dreams-property developing. This is a risk, it's scary, Im leaving my beautiful home BUT it's to follow a dream. If we can do it with my debt still an issue, imagine what you can achieve?!
You KNOW you can do it.
Take the redundency money and run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be happy wonderful lady. Cruella cannot take that away from you.

(and although somewhat harsh, I agree with what Katyusha says...)

  • OM,
I think you have already decided, you would be taking such a positive step to take redundancy. You have done so well at AQA it would tide you over, while you decide whether to move, what business to set up etc. I know you'll do well because you are so driven - but where you are at the moment with your professional and personal life you aren't getting the chance to shine. I also agree somewhat with what Katuysha says, if a bit harsh!

I did say that I didn't intend it to be. I think we are all on the Minxster's side. I just really cannot stand when so many people seem to do cruel and nasty things for absolutely no good reason whatsover. The power games. The petty abuse. The oh-I-told-you-so.

I recently made some big changes and left a mad boss. Someone used that great word 'liberating'. And you know what? It is.

    Hi OM

I have been busy the last few days and have just read of your meeting with Cruella.

I have to agree with the previous posts.

You are in a good position now to make the change and, having also cut and run from a boss who could not be pleased, I can only say go for the redundancy. You cannot anticipate the feeling you will get each morning when you do not have to face her.

If you feel that she has won the battle, then so what? You will win the war.

Hi Kat, no worries, I knew exactly what your sentiments were in what you said :)

The secured loan hasn't been taken for the second month running! Something has gone very weird with the DD. I'll ring tomorrow and pay it over the phone if it doesn't go out overnight, but I can't understand why it has just stopped. They say they are requesting it, the bank says they aren't. Probaly need to fill in a new DD mandate.

Updated my union rep today on what has been happening and he said her actions were 'malicious and constructive'. He said she had conned me into going into the meeting on Tuesday without union representation. He is going to take advice.

Still have some points outstanding before I can give a decision but HR are still dragging their heels.

    hi hun,

Make sure that the late loan payments do not have an adverse credit effect. Check your credit file just to be on the safe side.

Re bank charges, at the 11th Hour, barclays acknowledged my claim through moneyclaim  So now have to sit it out for another 14 days. I don't like this game any more.

On the plus side, I left my "proper" job (by proper, I mean 9-5, salary, pension, bonus, bupa etc) almost a year ago to set up on my own doing something completely different. My income has dropped by half but amazingly I am paying off more of my debt each month now than I ever was back then. I think this is because I am more disciplined, more aware of what is important, and more focussed in reducing the debt.

So, my advice to you would be to go with your heart. If you want it to work, then it will work, whatever you choose to do. But, YOU have to be the one to make it work.

You can do it, you know you can x

I was going to suggest you contacted your union rep. Thought she was in the wrong. So were HR. They should have known you were entitled to have a union rep present.
However in the long run you may benefit. The union will not be happy about what has happened and it strengthens your case.
  • Hi O_M, Well done on coming so far in your debt clearance.:T :T :T
I'm a long time lurker - but have never had the courage to reply on any of the boards but felt I had to in this case.
The Union Rep is not impressed with the way Cruella treated you at the last meeting. Why don't you take a look back over your thread - it's a diary of what's been going on in your debtfree struggle - but it's also a diary of some of the treatment you've received from Cruella. I would suggest maybe taking a note of the dates, times and any of the incidents you've mentioned in your thread and put it in a list to show to the Union Rep. S/He should then be able to advise you if there is a possible victimisation case.
Wouldn't it be nice to make Cruella squirm for a while????? :A :A :A
HR have already been alerted to the fact she hasn't been openhanded in her treatment of you.... now give them facts.. and figures.....!!!!
    Go for it....
