  • Feel a bit better today, but I felt dreadful yesterday evening. I just sat at the computer and stared into space. Bizarre.

Picked up the car which was quite exciting and drove it home ok and also to work this morning. I hate driving usually, I have very little confidence, but I feel quite excited by it, so maybe this is going to open up a new chapter of girl racer in my life!

The abbey have paid in the bank charges into my account and they clear on the 15th. I should have been running round like a loony cheering when I saw the balance last night, but I didn't and I don't know why. On the 15th I will only have my secured loan left after clearing my remaining 2 CC's.

I haven't had a reply back from the Abbey solicitors yet about the incorrect interest and the (cheeky) request for preparation time.

Friday is D-Day job wise. i'm having my individual meeting with Cruella, the HR manager and I'm hoping to get the union chappy there as well. I have had a tiny whisper put my way that my job has possibly been down graded. If that is true, I will feel incredibly humiliated and embarrassed and I can see Cruella smirking about it now.

As far as I know, if that is the case, I will be protected, pay wise for two years. I don't know though if I will be able to request re-deployment or not.

Agencies in this area are all factory/HGV driving related. I'm registered with Monster but nothing useful has come through yet on the weekly reports.

I've had a couple of calls about the car, but only time wasters so far. The guy at the garage said that his daughter might be interested in buying it from me as she needs a runaround to get to job interviews.

Torvill and Dean vaguely ring a bell here. Didn't they, on winning Olympic gold/world championship/?? say that funnily enough they didn't feel really hysterically elated and ecstatically happy - just...well, nothing much? They had been working towards it for so long and been so exhausted by it that all that kicked in was a sort of 'flat' feeling.

It's obviously some kind of syndrome so don't worry about it. All perfectly normal.

So let me get this straight. You've made a complaint of bullying (IIRC) HR have done nothing about it. Now (possibly) your job is going to be down-graded in what on the face of it seems to be retribution. You need to seek legal advice, or at the very least, send a signed-for letter to HR stating the above and giving them a specified time to "think about it".

Definitely have someone from the union with you.
HR may be on your side or wanting to do right by you to protect firm, but union rep WILL be there to support your case.
  • One fact: HR are never on your side. They are on the side of the company.
  • Seems it was chinese whispers.

I've been sent all three job descriptions and I stay the same. It is true one went up and one went down. My colleague who is very 'in' with Cruella has gone up a band (god knows how) and my colleague who is on maternity leave and who's job is basically being dumped will be offered an admin post on band one lower than she currently is. Not good.

It seems I am stuck. Or I get out. I will have to take the job. Ballbags.

    Chin up OM!

I think what you're feeling is really normal - all the tension over your back pay & Abbey, now it's all over, it's only natural to feel a little deflated.

Don't let the warthog get you down. Compare your current and new duties with the job that's been upgraded, talk objectively about what you've achieved [STRIKE]and if that doesn't work nut her [/STRIKE].

Still, you're doing great, am so glad you took my technical advice and got a red car!!!!! Here's to many hours of happy motoring :coffee: best not be champagne as you're driving!!! Peep peep!!!!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

The answer was in the question.

  • I've sold my VW!!!

The guy who runs the garage I bought the honda from called his daughter and she has raided her piggy bank. She is 22 and just setting up as a freelance photographer and had no transport to get herself around to jobs. Her and her dad took it for a drive and he was happy and she was very happy. I had it for sale at £450 although I knew I wouldn't get anywhere near that. I said she could have it for £300 as the Honda is so good and she needs the car to get herself started. I paid £275 and taxed it for 6 months when I got it in November, so I'm happy. I know I paid for the water pump to be fixed, but that's just life with a car I guess.

The cash is in my purse and I've waved Vera off into the rain!
