Actually good question I have been working out discount on offer price and not the pre-offer price. Would be good to know.

See my earlier post above as the £5 discount is taken off the bill before the 3 for £10 price difference is taken off, so I was wondering this myself?

I am sure in previous offers/years this has been the case.

I wish I had realised this before. I only bought the lasagne and fish and chip meals to make the bill up to £25.00. The pre-discount price on the 3 for £10 meat and the pie/veg/mash meals was £27.11 so I could have got all those for £15.00.
Never mind I will know better next week.

Hi Dealchaser, I did the same.

Can you check your receipt to see if yours was the same as mine, ie the £5 came off at full price before the other discounts were applied.

If this is the case we can probably assume it would be ok and our goodies would cost us less than £20.

My fridge is stocked up for this week so won't be trying it before the end of the week.

I got the lamb shoulder and reading the cooking instructions on the back it says to cook for 3 hours.

But then there is a chefs tip that says it will be even better if its cooked for longer but says nothing about the temp if cooking longer.

So what I need to know is do I just cook it at the temperature it states (160 degrees I think) if you are cooking it for 3 hours but keep it in the oven for another couple of hours?

    Don't want to ruin it!

I would personally put it in a roasting tin with half inch water, put a few sprigs rosemary on it, cover in tin foil and cook on 150 for 4 hours. It will fall off the bone and the water will make unbelievable gravy.
  • I went yesterday and got the lamb shoulder, which is in the oven now and smells great, two chicken breasts and some lovely looking cod fillet. They also has chicken mini fillets, ready chopped chicken, meatloaf, whole chickens (small), gammon joint, salmon, some sort of chicken joint thing for roasting, brisket, pork, pork chops and I think there was something else as well. The cod alone should have been nearly £6 so I'm pleased about that.

Yes, my receipt is the same as yours. Next week I will do better, I promise!;)

I cooked mine as per instructions on packet and it just fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious. The best lamb I have had in a while. Watford branch have not had the lamb shoulders for last 2 weeks but if they have them next week I will definitely buy.

so basically what you are saying is that if we buy the 3 for £10 x2 that should be enough to activate the £5 off therefore we only need to spend £20 and it will only cost us £15?

I'm not on tills much these days but I think you need to spend over £25 on food, wine and flowers *after* discounts have been applied. There are loads of little offers on though that they don't advertise apart from in store like half price muffins and olive oil, it shouldn't be hard to make up a fiver.

At our M&S we joke that we can't afford to shop at Lidl as they are so much more expensive there :D
