I got the lamb shoulder and reading the cooking instructions on the back it says to cook for 3 hours.

But then there is a chefs tip that says it will be even better if its cooked for longer but says nothing about the temp if cooking longer.

So what I need to know is do I just cook it at the temperature it states (160 degrees I think) if you are cooking it for 3 hours but keep it in the oven for another couple of hours?

    Don't want to ruin it!

I turned it down a bit (after a couple of hours) to 140 degrees and roasted mine for about 7 hours in total! Turned it over half way through (as per pack instructions). Was absolutely beautiful.

Great post, thanks to all who have contributed.

Went in nice and early this morning and they were just refilling the shelves so with the exception of the Wild Alaskan Salmon which they only had 1 pack I was able to look for the best shelf life and picked up some good sized chicken.

Had 2 x 3 for £10 plus the Chicken pie deal for £20 with my £5 voucher.

Just in passing if anyone needs to make up the £5 to use the voucher they have a lovely selection of potted Orchids on half price offer at £4.99.

    Hi

I have 2 spare leaflets that I offered to friends who declined.

The first 2 to PM me with their details will get them but please only reply if YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY HAD THE LEAFLET, in the true spirit of MSE.

    Good luck

Does anyone know whether the total spend to make the coupon work is before or after the 3 for £10 or dine for a tenner deduction ?

You may have a point as I have just looked at my receipt and it states:

    Total before saving £35.98

    Spend £25 save £5
    £5.00 discount £5 -

    Poultry, Meat & Fish 3 for £10
    Discount £8.91 -

    Pie/Casserole Meal Deal
    Discount £1.98

Balance to pay 11 items £20.09

So it looks as if it takes the £5 discount from the full price before subtracting the 3 for £10 discounts!

Could be even better than we thought because for another £14 spend you could use the £10 off £50 voucher instead of the £5 one.

Out of interest does anyone know if the £10 voucher would work with the £5 with a £50 spend?

Thanks to the op for this, we never shop in m&s for food normally, had a large credit note which paid for all our Christmas food and wine but had about £11 left so went in today and got

    1 Oakham chicken 1.35kg
    2 slow roast lamb shoulder
    1 pork joint
1 melting middle pack of fish cakes
1 butter basted chicken breast in a tray

and £5 of other bits, used the £5 spend and save voucher as it was a £25 shop and used up the £11 credit note so paid £9 in all which was quite nice

That's really good of you bloaty. Does anyone else have a spare £5 voucher? Would appreciate one. Thanks.
