Postal Deliveries Shambles

erm in what way Mugwumps. As I dont live in Scotland nor know anyone who lives there nor have any postal contact there. It doesnt affect me.
Nor does a war in Afghanistan as I know nobody in the Forces...
I suggest everyone give up with this guy and hope that his precious DVD's get to him today because all the reasoning in the world isn't going to make him aware of things going on around him outside of his comfy flat. A distinct smug "I'm alright Jack" attitude if you ask me.
OP your comment about Afghanistan not affecting you is particularly distasteful and a total insult to the brave people being sent to fight over there in the hope of making the world a safer place to live in, including making your life safer over here :rolleyes:0 -
we got post today! well done to my postie!xxmummy to 3 monsters!
trying to money save, but spot too many bargains on here!!0 -
We got our post again today and it snowed again in the night so it's even deeper than it was yesterday, although he was wrapped up like a fish supper and even had ear muffs on
No posties in shorts here.
Not quite sure what is happening Afghanistan has to do with the post but I reckon this thread is going to turn into a political argument rather than a bit of a rant about having no post.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
Have you popped into the sorting office that is so convenient to you to pass on your complaints in person? I'm sure there will be someone there who will provide you with the information you require. And I wouldn't right off the whole of Scotland as not affecting you as many Government call centres are based here along with lots of big companies, Tesco and Marks to name two.
As regards the Matthew Wright Show, get yourself to Queensway, they'll pay your expenses to do so and throw in coffee and croissants so you can go on the show and make your complaints to him.0 -

We should all get our news from The Wright Stuff then we'd really know what we were talking about... Or maybe try the Daily Mail?!
This is my point. Why do the BBC have an obsession with reporting BAD news all the time. In Colwyn Bay we had a one hour snow shower on Tuesday. A lot of that snow melted as soon as it fell and by Wednesday morning not only were the roads and most the pavements completely clear of snow they were completely bone dry. The temperature didn't drop below freezing on Tuesday or Wednesday although admittedly it get a bit colder last night. This morning, just like yesterday morning and Wednesday morning we have got clear blue skies, the sun is shining and there's barely a breeze in the air. All in all it's a beautiful spring day!
So why not get a BBC reporter down here to show that in some parts of the UK the weather is actually very GOOD. Who knows, it might cheer a few people up.

Our walking postie has been coming every day and all credit to him.:T
The royal mail van won't come up our road though (very flat, two minutes off the main road) so I ring the sorting office to see if they have the recorded delivery parcel I've been waiting two weeks for. They do, but I can't collect it without one those 'we tried to deliver' cards (strict rule, asked to speak to a manager as well, but no joy) and I'm not going to get one of those (or my parcel) as the van won't come up the road.
It's silly catch 22 situations like these that give Royal Mail it's bad reputation.0 -

I don't think the beeb are obsessed with bad news, just with news! The fact that somewhere is having ordinary boring weather isn't news, and isn't interesting, is it?
I agree they tend to overdo the "entire country" suffering from "blizzard conditions" thing though. The weather is exceptionally cold and snowy in many parts of the country, and it should be enough to say that without getting all hyperbolic.0 -

Hi Casper,
I think it snowed in a lot of parts of the country on Monday, it's now Friday. I'm well aware that the weather has been cold in some parts of the country all week. This morning when I turned on BBC Breakfast they had a reporter stood in a field in Scotland telling me it's cold and there's snow. Yesterday they had someone in Wigan, I think the day before they had someone in Leeds. All telling me it's cold and there's been some snow. This has been going on for five days now, we are all now well aware what's occuring so why has this been the main news story all week. Yes it was news on Monday and Tuesday but is it really still big news. According to Breakfast this morning the weather in Scotland got very cold last night but it got nowhere near the lowest ever recorded temperature. So why bother telling me then? I know it's cold in parts of Scotland, lets face it that's nothing unusual, so why keep telling me day after day after day........ And do I really want to see yet another picture of a jack-knifed lorry or, heaven forbid, a giant snowman? Answer - no I do not.
The point I'm trying to make is that all this reporting of the snow and cold day after day has become extremely boring. It's no longer news so please BBC move on to something else.
Anyway, rant over so I'm now off to the beach .The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

Still no post here, but I walked to the Post Office this morning and saw a postman delivering to the houses around there.
We're the last bag on the walk though, so ours often gets left in if something like this happens.
I'm waiting for a dog tag for my new puppy as he's just had his injections and I'm a bit nervous letting him off the lead with no tag on his collar.
I've also posted my marriage certificate off to a building society as I realised the account was still in my maiden name, and I opened new postal accounts for the boys so their passports and birth certs are in the post too. All the documents have been posted back, so I hope they don't get lost in the backlog. It's the passports I'd like to get back as we're going on holiday in May and my middle son needs his sent away for renewing before we go.Here I go again on my own....0 -

Walked to the shop this morning, passed him and, nope, he is still in shorts :rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
