Postal Deliveries Shambles

Well the posties are out today, even though we've had around 6-7 inches fall over the past two days. One of them is actually in shorts  apparently our postie says he is doing it as a dare and if he doesn't go into trousers at all, they all have to give money to charity!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

We had no post for a few days but got some this morning and am currently responsible for a parcelforce van not being out delivering as he's stuck in the carpark, having a brew while we wait for some 'big strong' blokes to come and help dig him out. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Had normal deliveries here every day even with thick snow on the ground since before Christmas and the roads are just ice ruts. Can't be much normal mail getting to the local office though because we had a letterbox full of crap yesterday. :rolleyes:0

Don't you watch the news ?
Can't believe that anyone would not realise the greater picture
Don't believe everything you see on the news. The 'big picture' is that some parts of country have experienced bad weather, but they don't mention that other parts of the country haven't. Where I live we had one brief snow shower on Tuesday but otherwise the weather has been reasonably mild, the main roads are all perfectly clear, shops and businesses are operating as normal and even the trains are running on time!
The problem is that the BBC and ITV always send their reporters to the worst affected areas so they can be filmed reporting from the middle of a six foot snow drift. If they sent a reporter here they'd be struggling to find a six millimeter deep snow drift to stand in!The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

I am a postie and am in an area where we have recieved 6/7 inches of snow that has been comacted by Ice. i have been out every day. I have now fallen over 4 times and damaged my knee, and I all I get for it is abuse on the street from people that have not recieved post. These are the same people that have not gone into work due to the snow......
Dont know the posties all the time, most of us work hard. I personally dont want to be out for hours on end, cold with wet feet and trousers, falling over and being pelted with snowballs by bored school children.
And to the poster that said he lived 10 mins from his sorting office......I live 5 mins from mine, but my post actually comes from another sorting office.0 -
I have absolutely no issues with the posties themselves. Great bunch of determined, pleasant folk I've always found.
Royal Fail as a company though? I'm pretty sure we share the same feelingsStarting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
