Sorry for that voice bu Mugwumps must have one eye on the CBBC she seems to have got her handle from and as she accused me umpteen times of being ignorant, I felt it only fair to point out that she doesnt seem to actually read posts properly. She also failed to see why someone elses post might be important to me so I pointed out why exactly it is. What is rot is that I have to exaplin myself to someone who clearly is what she accuses others of being. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Just wanted to add my experience with our local Royal Mail. Phoned customer service this morning, who put me through to our local sorting office, spoke to a very nice, helpful man called Rodney, who said we would be getting a delivery today (not had one since Tuesday!).
Our postie turned up at 3.15 with the goodies I had been waiting for. Had a quick chat with him, he said they have been very busy over the weekend trying to catch up.
We still have some slush and ice on the track up to our house. Usually he drives right up to our gate and climbs over, however he must have struggled this afternoon, as I saw him walking back down the 200 metres to the bottom of the track.£400+ in my £2 coin tablet fund0 -

why does you postie have to 'climb over'?0 -
Was so nice today to walk on some parts of the road that were snow/ice free at last. Although I did have my first slip with my snow chains. Customer had put down a sheet of hardboard on their path, just looked like a bit of the slab, partially covered in snow, ofc it was rather slippery and I looked like a fool :rotfl: Oh well it was bound to happen sooner or later.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -

BTW he doesn't scale a high security gate, it's just a normal driveway gate.
Surely that could be used as an excuse not to deliver your post?If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

We've never had a problem - so far.
Before we finally got our wheelie bin last year, even our bin men used to climb over the gate to get our bin bags, on the rare occasion we forgot to put them out.
There is another way on to the property which is open, but no way for vehicles to turn around down our part (they'd need to reverse back up the hill), so most find it's easier to just climb over the gate.£400+ in my £2 coin tablet fund0 -
Managers have been doing deliveries on evenings and weekends to clear the backlog.
So they don`t want posties booking half and hour extra as I got told twice last week:rolleyes: but are willing to give managers extra overtime(at far greater rates than an ordinary postie)to clear the backlog on evenings and weekends?"Life is short even in its longest days".0 -
